Can you drop tiers like you can drop divisions? I just recently hit silver V and am wondering because I heard that you cannot drop tiers.

You can drop tiers, it just takes longer. Your mmr has to drop a lot before you can drop a tier.

when you hit silver 5 you dont go to bronze until your mmr is on the same level as bronze V so it takes a while
