Support income stats

First off, I love the addition of stats. Probably the best addition to the game in a long time in my opinion. That said, as a support, why am I looking at trying to increase my CS per minute or my early CS advantage against the opposing support? It's fun trying to increase your grades across the board, but the wonky income stats as a support has me doing the wrong things simply for a higher grade. Could it be made so that support income stats can be linked to their AD's gold advantages?

Nitpicky, I know, but if this was ironed out I think stats would be perfect. Thanks.

I usually have a big CS deficit as a support, compared to the average support.

But doesn't that mean I'm better than the average support in this regard because I'm not stealing CS from my lane partner? Why is my grade dropping because of it? [sg-janna]

(I usually play enchanters in the support role, and usually not tanks.)

because you dont use targons, if your adc leaves you alone to defend the lane and goes mid then you increase your cs that way...but when I play supp and my adc leaves and no one defend the tower I have to do it. I don't know why they leave the support to defend the lanes and all go mid I think it's stupid but in my elo it happens a lot.

Having a deficit on enchanters doesn't really matter because it takes the average of your champion. All enchanters will have a deficit and you will average about the same deficit. The problem comes when you don't take relic on champions who normally do. Good examples are Taric taking coin and Blitz taking spellthief.

The problem comes in when if you want to improve that income stat beyond the average of your champion, you are stealing a creep more often to be "above average" in a 100% irrelevant stat for supports. Supports just shouldn't have to think about that stuff. Encourage supports to enable the AD's CS per minute and CS advantage. Do this by tracking the appropriate stats.

It kind of sucks as a Taric main who uses item 3301 instead of item 3307 . My gold income grade average is really low in the stats because of this.

Amen. This is my point. You shouldn't have to favor an item over another simply to increase your Stats grade. Supports should be graded high for their ADC's CS advantage.

It gets really dumb when you look at gold income for my normal games. 599 to -269 for gold advantage is somehow a B+....seems legit

Yep. You are performing very well. The irrelevant stats are just screwing over your grade. Demonstrates my point perfectly.

not so great of an idea:

it is true that most people don't like to play support for the reason that they don't get enough gold and are almost useless alone. but having thier gold income linked to thier adc is a bad idea, if your adc sucks you can do nothing about it, and your opponent earns more gold, making the already garbage snowball meta more snowbally.

most non-suppoert players like to play pyke when they get autofilled cause that's what's missing in the support role, being able to make plays and TAKE kills. if there was an item that shared the kill gold between the two like pyke's ult people will like the support role even more

Uhhhh what? I'm talking about the literal "Stats" screen. It tracks CS per minute and CS advantage vs the opposing support. Did I not say that exactly?

What I'm asking is that instead of tracking how many CS per minute you got vs the other support, track how your ADC did vs the opposing ADC. It seems like a no-brainer to me.
