Treeline: you will be missed

I just want to say that the upcoming removal of Twisted Tree line is saddening to me. I’m sure I’m not alone in this feeling. Treeline has been fun for me from the start. I wish we could change Riot’s mind about canceling yet another beloved game mode. If anyone wants to share their grief about losing Treeline or if you just want to share things you enjoyed about it, this is the thread. Here are some things I’ll miss about Treeline:

Vilemaw- aka the best buff in the game
The unique altar system
Smaller teams
Much less toxicity
Abusing bots to get chests for champs that I’m not good with
Awesome Treeline items like Wooglet’s Witchcap and Lord Van Dam’s Pillager
Short matches
The map itself

riot doesnt even give a single fk about it

they just removed .. just like dominion

they dont care about 3v3 or what dominion was

they grow in budget but not in other areas like maps

it wasn't played because riot almost never maintained it properly or balanced it. Same with dominion.

So yes, it wasn't "good", but only because riot refused to keep it good.

twisted treeline at one point received as much attention as summoners rift did and guess what nobody played it.

Riot gave it update patches and guess what nobody still played.

The game mode has no competitive feel

I understand where you're coming from with this. The statement "No one played it" just isn't true though. Yes, 3v3 has always been MUCH smaller than 5s. However, I have played 3s since Season 1 and at one point exclusively played it. And it sucks that it's gone. It does matter.

It wasn't as profitable as summoner's rift, because it wasn't "the premier" game mode for esports, and therefore wasn't highly promoted. It never got the same amount of support as summoner's rift, and so riot let it get terminally ill, then said "oh no it died, guess we better bury it now".

That's just... not true. The original Twisted Treeline was an odd map that felt like it was created just to have another game mode and even in season 1 wasn't too well known. The second Twisted Treeline got the same amount if attention as SR for exactly one patch: the patch it released on. After that it was left out in the woods to die with only a few changes over the entire lifetime of the mode.

Honestly, the only thing I'll miss is the team size. I always have 2 friends online and we've had so much fun playing Twisted Treeline over the past few years.

The team size allows for different compositions to succeed - Tanks are a bit stronger since you don't have 5 opponents whittling him down.

I won't miss the map all that much though. Nor will I miss the weird items .. err I take that back, Moonflair Spellblade was amazing.

Yeah Moonflair is cool. I like that Wooglet combines hourglass and deathcap.

It's true that twisted treeline was on life support, but they should stop saying it was difficult to maintain since they didn't touch it for years. I ended up voting "No" because, at this point, Twisted treeline needs to go, because Riot will never give it attention anyways, and if people forced them too, they would make it a disaster.

Stupid riot, i play only 3v3 sinds couple years, quick matchs, dont need 1hour for match. ant for me better 3v3....stupid riot im so angry i never gonna buy again RP

I just wish Riot actually replaced it with a fast paced PvP mode that isn't based entirely around RNG. It's one thing flat out removing it, it's another offering a replacement.

The discussion ended long ago. TT is being removed because its player base is tiny, and most of them are bots anyway. Literally speaking, almost no one will miss TT.

I don’t play it as often as ARAM but I do enjoy it and come back to it in bursts.

I'm happy. Never have to play against diamonds to get to gold (for victorious chroma). If matchmaking wasn't sucking so hard I'd say this mode is pretty fun. But ....hell no. Never in my life I was that tilted.

I played twisted treeline since season 2, got my account to level 30 on that map, i hated the map update so much, the alters, the walls at fountain, top side jungle removal, these were so unnecessary, i wished maybe riot will change the map back at one point but they never did.
