Why Zilean is not OP

Most people are complainig abought Zileans bomb move. The reason being you cant dodge it or protect yourself from it. So people start yelling in the chat abought how he is broken and takes no skill. They are also mad due to his ult. Which is basiclly a guardian angel. However here are a few reasons why he is not OP.

  1. His bomb attack is his only damge spell. Beside his basic attack that does like no damge his bomb is the only way to harm you. His W reduces his ability cooldown by 10 seconds, and his E will either speed up an ally or himself or slowdown an enemy.
  2. His ult is only effective if he activates it on himself or an ally. It wont trigger atoumaticlly. So you need to have good reflexs to have it be effective. If you do it to soon it will fade away, or if you do it to late you will be dead.

I admit no champions perfect, but all have a lot of thought put into them to make them unique from the rest and have thier own advantages and disadvantges.Zilean

I was unaware that anyone thought Zilean was OP.

Zilean's not OP, but he IS toxic.

Why?

  1. GLOBAL PASSIVE.
  2. Q has bad counterplay.
  3. W is bad/invisible gameplay.
  4. Overall gameplay pattern is obnoxious, but not strong.

I could go on, but then I'd only be harping on about my personal dislike of him.

Well, Zilean has no innate tankiness in his kit, and his E isn't a particularly strong disengage, so any jungler who can silence or stun will absolutely wreck the guy before 6. After 6 he might revive and escape.

The only problem I have with Zil, is that if you cast time bomb and the enemy gets bursted quickly by your adc (Ezreal) and they ult to secure the kill (Ez, Ashe, Draven) your time bomb usually goes off and steals the kill.

The problem is his w makes his ult CD a joke for how powerful of a skill it is when you play 40% CDR on him. With 40% CDR it will take zilean 30 seconds roughly for him to have his ultimate back again when spamming w.

Imagine if item 3026 Anivia Aatrox Zac had a 30 second CD on their revival skill, and how insanely broken it would be. 30 seconds isn't enough vulnerability time on a this sorta of skill.

And the fact that his Q has such good base dmg, that you can get away with building mana and CDR first then AP and still be extremely annoying since due w making so spammable.

Additionally the max CDR build means his e effectively has a near 100% uptime again due to his w.

His entire balance problem is how insanely well his W and CDR work together. If I were to suggest any change it would be making his w either uneffected by CDR or passive grant CDR (like Zyra seed) and given a longer CD, so that it wouldn't benefit as much from CD because the 10 seconds off other skills every 3.6 seconds is the root of the problem, imo.
