Why are tanks on ARAM so powerful compared to SR?

Serious question, just wondering why everyone is complainting about adc's, while I get 1v1'd by a Shen while I'm on a MF with BC, IE, SS and Mortal reminder. So what's the difference?

And yes, 1v1, but I dodged his taunt, he wasted his W before the engage, both from 100% health and I was stutter stepping back. Took about 5 seconds for him to kill me, while I did about 70% damage to him. I coulnd't have played it better, but he just wouldn't die. Why?

Tanks are typically rather strong in teamfights.

ARAM is basically constant teamfighting.

Multiple reasons. ARAM doesn't leave you much room for side to side. Shen and Garen's broken legs aren't as exploited with 1 lane, and Snowballs give them the gap close that they are desperately lacking in the Rift. Melee also gets +10 base magic resist to start the game now. ARAM has insane gold per minute, so tanks are allowed to keep up with carries in items, which doesn't happen in SR.

Constant teamfights.

Mf is pretty bad imo.

Edit: Also Shen has a larger income in ARAM so that might make a huge difference.
