Balance Support Gold Income

Hello guys Hanjaro here, I have been in and out of challenger playing mostly support for the past 4 seasons. I feel like support has always been one step behind the rest of the game. My idea for fixing support stems around balancing support gold income. If supports were to have a role based item(linked to lobby role(support)), this item could be similar to Viktors Hexcore. It should have many upgrades that are more focused towards vision. So assume this item is a piece that you can upgrade into all the sightstone items, however this item would also share full gold earned by your adc when last hitting minions(yes i know thats a lot of gold for supports for free)HOWEVER, this could benefit support in a way that you could remove gold per 10 items, FORCE super passive support players that afk at turret on soraka or janna and have no presence in lane be forced to do something. Their presence in lane will allow their ADC to farm thus benefiting their gold income. Their could also be stipulation that works similar to relic shield if the support takes the last hit it can benefit the ADC as well, maybe stacks with this, maybe permanent just to ensure bot lane is equal gold. This overall would make support a more carry role by having the gold to create realistic items, or items equal to that of other players, it would remove the balancing difficulty Riot has for making decent support items at affordable prices and keeping them out of other lanes(yes top laners top trolling supports)

I'm not trying to be a "shitposter" or however the kids call it . I am trying to give you constructive criticism. You say this is about getting a point across, but the simple fact of the matter is by not excising your right to use ENTER, you are actually making it harder to get the point across. This is pretty standard affair, especially on the internet. Most people will not take the time to read your posts if it is just a wall of text.

I am sure you have plenty to say, but it is wasted if you choose not to present it in a way that will get people to actually read it, and that sucks since you clearly put a lot of thought and time into your post. A good amount of people will simply look and leave, which would leave your efforts wasted, and i find it is in your best interest to take it into practice.

Agree 100%. When I see a wall of text I'll usually read the first line and if it's not absolutely captivating, there's no way I'm diving through that melee of letters fighting over screen space to try and understand the message.

By breaking up your thoughts with a little bit of space, you'll have more readers which equals more people to convince with your post.

paragraphs are just for content readability, you'd get your point across much more easily if you used them.

Afk under tower like Soraka or Janna? Hey don't gut my play style! Lol

Also, I'm in bronze... I don't want to have to rely on my suicidal ADC any more than I already do. :P

As a support main, I do agree that the gold income for supports does need some adjustments, but this is way to much. If this items shares full gold whenever the ADC last hits, which is to much gold for a support, people could easily take advantage of this. If Brand support wasn't already difficult enough to deal with, if this items were to exist, he would be able to get Morellonomicon like 7 minutes in. In my opinion they need to make more class specific items for supports, specifically for supports such as Janna an Lulu, who don't really have a gold income items that's specifically better for them. For ranged supports it's really just go Spellthief's or Ancient Coin if you're playing Soraka. Now if they made an item that worked like Spellthief's, where instead of getting gold for every time you hit an enemy, you get gold for every time shield/heal/buff your allies. This would work well seeing as they couldn't try to take advantage of it early game because if they did try they would run out of mana in less than a minute. I don't know. That's just my idea.

brand would have similar gold to that of his lane partner where he worked to get those cs through pressure/presence. they wouldn't hvae more gold than anyone they would have the same gold, and considering bot lane is the lowest level in the game at all times I feel it would benefit the dynamic of the game to be able to both potentially farm CS in the bot lane and both be responsible for your income not just 1 person.

Still though, that's just way to much, with this item anybody could support because everybody would be able to get high power items by just staying in lane. It could theoretically make Miss Fortune support viable, or even worse, double ADC bot lanes in general viable.

its not free gold if you have to help keep your lane in the game, you earned it

I'm not a fan of lobby role making an impact on anything. Role swapping is sometimes a thing, and the roles themselves aren't even set in stone (maybe there will be a meta where double jg is a thing, or teams/players who roll that way independent of the meta).

I'd like to think you don't have many super passive janna/raka players at challenger elo. Sure you 'can' play them that way and it sorta kinda works up to a point, but I feel like that point is probably gold-ish, and I don't like the idea of tweaking things around lower elos.

Full gold sharing would also lead to double adc situations which seems scary. This in turn might lead to adc players actually fighting over the support 'adc' role since they get all the power of an adc without the need to actually farm.

can confirm it still works in challenger elo

But where do the good janna/raka players end up then?

Or alternatively, if super passive janna/raka play is actually a >50% win strategy at high elo, why should it be discouraged? It sounds like they're allowing the enemy bot lane to get a sizable early game cs lead, so it doesn't seem like one of those no risk strategies that actually upset game balance.

I play mostly support, but find that more aggressive supports can overcome the gold deficits most have from that position, but passive supports struggle to complete necessary items for crucial mid game fights. A support position only item such as jungle items are only available to those with smite would be nice. SO maybe making a summoner spell that is only appealing to supports that allows only supports to build and have additional gold income from said item.
