Aatrox Rework Idea

Hello everyone! Yesterday evening I watched some videos about champs that could need some love and made some thoughts about Aatrox. I developed some ideas to give him both some uniqueness and include his lore and fantasy in a playstyle. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this and will give reasons and insight to each ability's idea.

His model should be a tiny bit bulkier and he would wield his massive sword with two hands.

Basic rework idea: Aatrox is kind of a God of War, being an entity that manifests on an army's side to turn the tide of battle, inspiring his allies and slashing his own way through waves of enemies. My idea was to turn him into a juggernaut like champion with a lot of short range AOE and ally buffs who is strongest in a team fight and when engaged on.

Base stat change:

Attack range: 250

Passive: Legendary Darkin Blade Aatrox’ massive blade is a heavy legendary weapon, thirsty for his enemies’ blood. His attack speed cannot be increased by items or allied buffs nor be decreased by debuffs. (Maybe he could convert a very small percentage of AS into Lifesteal? Just an idea...) Aatrox basic attacks hit all enemies in front of him (90° at level 1, 180° at level 18), and apply the Blood Sigil debuff. (Idea: The basic attacks function like skill shots, but still have a “primary target”(the one clicked on). Every not primary target can avoid the damage by flashing, dodging, dashing etc. If the primary target intents this, Aatrox could maybe teleport with the target? Or the damage would simply apply, as usual.)

Blood Sigil: The victim’s blood is flooded with mere fear, slowing it’s movement speed by a certain amount (really low, doubled or increased when moving away from Aatrox).

Design idea: This passive would make Aatrox unique on one hand and on the other supports the fantasy of him slashing through waves of enemies. His attacks should feel slow but insanely powerful.

Q: Dark Slam (Flat health cost, no %, linear skillshot) Aatrox expands his sword and slams it on the ground in a line front of him, dealing normal damage and applying Blood Sigil. If this ability kills one or more enemies, Aatrox gains some health back.

Design idea: Q, often a simple core ability to a champion's kit. Basically some sustain and or short range harrass tool.

W: Blood Price/Blood Toll (toggled) Blood Price: Basic attacks against enemies with Blood Sigil deal extra damage but drain health from Aatrox. Blood Toll: Basic attacks against enemies with Blood Sigil heal Aatrox for X % (+ Y % for each Z % of missing HP) of the total damage dealt.

Design idea: I really like the current W of Aatrox, with it's decision potential, so I wanted to kind of keep it. But due to his now always slow attack speed, it would work with the Blood Sigil instead of three hit passive.

E: Darkin Curse Aatrox absorbs the fear he has spread in his victims’ blood. Each target in range that has a Blood Sigil on them takes magic damage. Enemy champions are also feared for a short duration. (~1 sec?) Killing a unit with this ability makes Aatrox feast on the enemy’s fear, building up resistance against angst. (Each unit slain increases his tenacity by a small %, up to a maximum %.)

Design idea: Both an ability to have a little bit of short range cc, but also to farm and support the fantasy of Aatrox both feasting on the bloodshed and the fear he spreads during battle and becoming more powerful while the battle continues.

**R: The Eternal God of War ** Aatrox inspires all his nearby allies to fight like they have never fought before. Every allied champion in range is granted the Eternal War buff. Aatrox can then cast Dark Flight once.

Dark Flight: After becoming unstoppable and channeling for 0,75 seconds, Aatrox dashes rapidly to the cursor location and stuns all hit enemies in the area for 0,5 seconds while applying Blood Sigil. This dash does cancel enemy dashes if timed properly.

Eternal War: For X seconds, each team member is granted a buff to his offensive abilities. This buff prolongs its duration and gets stronger each time a nearby allied champion dies. The last champion standing will enter an insane stage of battle rage that makes them a formidable fighter but applies a heavy slow on them if they try to disengage from the fight.

Design idea: This ability would give Aatrox both a small, long CD gapcloser, kinda recycle his current Q but the major part would be his core fantasy: Turn the tides of a battle, inspire allies to fight til death and really being an aspect of war.

I'd love to hear some ideas on this and fantasize a little about a possible Aatrox rework with you guys. Cause, let's face it, Rito won't probably ever see any of this. :D
