It compares your performance against that of OTHER (Insert Champion Here) GAMES. If you were not top-tier LeBlanc play at your elo/mmr/league/whatever when compared to the performance of other LeBlanc players, then you do not get an S.
This means that Yasuo was top-tier Yasuo for his mmr/division while you were not.

They ended a 30 minute game with 74 CS and only placed two wards (despite having a Yellow Trinket for the entire game).

Frightning1 votes74 CS, versus yasuo's 269 CS. That's your answer right there, look at the gold difference too, he was over 3k gold ahead of you despite fewer kills and fewer assists. He also did far more damage to champions than you did (about 50% more), and he actually warded a half decent amount (11), you placed 2....2 wards....in nearly 30 minutes. It's a wonder you got an A at all...League isn't a FPS, your KDA doesn't mean shit on it's own.

Plus, scores are determine based on each individual champion's average performance in the role you played. For example, a 5/0/12 may be an S on a Support Tahm Kench, but could be a B+ on a Middle Lane Katarina.
