How do you even get better at this game??

I just started playing on this acc 2 weeks or so ago. I am a "smurf" but that's because since I play with friends as a support main, I constantly play against gold-diamond elo. On this account I just want to step away from supporting and strictly becoming a katarina main. But no matter what I do, I'm always placed against a god-tier smurf and it's just NOT OKAY. I never learn, I don't understand, and it doesn't make sense how my burst is weaker than everybody else's. I lose nearly every game that I don't afk in and I'm tired of feeling like shit about it. I just want to get better. My main is "Nomiyu"

The system already detected you as smurf and will therefore only match you with other smurfs. So no puppy-stomping - you wouldn't even learn anything from that.

If you play more games and your MMR gets lowered, you'll eventually go against people who are more your level. Also, on your main account try playing some ranked games. That's generally a good way to improve your player skill

Get your ass beat down to where you belong, main mid, secondary ADC. With ADC you can get a better understanding of bot lane as support. Also, it'll prevent you from getting filled into support and pulling you away from where you belong.

Do you know who Marcel Proust is? French writer. Total loser. Never had a real job. Unrequited love affairs. Gay. Spent 20 years writing a book almost no one reads. But he's also probably the greatest writer since Shakespeare. Anyway, he uh... he gets down to the end of his life, and he looks back and decides that all those years he suffered, Those were the best years of his life, 'cause they made him who he was. All those years he was happy? You know, total waste. Didn't learn a thing.

Look for a champion you like and play that champion until you "mastered" it. Macro gameplay comes with time and if you already know the Micro play of your Champ then it is easier to focus on Macro.

I do really like playing Kat, but it just feels impossible to play her because everybody I play against has unbelievable damage at the beginning of the game :(

That is a part of learning. Knowing the matchups and when to get in and get out when to all in when to just poke and the mechanics of your champion makes the microgame. It takes time trust me.

1.) Katarina has a large learning curve because her skill ceiling is rather high. There are a lot of potential mistakes you can make with Kat, and one of the easiest to fall into is not realizing what your current damage output is, especially during an all-in. A lot of this just comes with practice. You simply need to put more time in, and you will be more aware of what your capable of.

2.) Kat is slippery, but she's still very burstable and people tend to target her because of her extreme damage output, so positioning is absolutely paramount when playing her. The enemy team will ALWAYS dedicate CC and Burst your way, so you must make them work for it with her tools. Juke more, remember that the threat of you jumping into a teamfight can sometimes do more than you actually doing it.

3.) Focus on YOUR OWN PLAY. The #1 thing you can do to get more wins and carry more games is to die less. Take a look at your average deaths per game. The pros generally keep it under 3-4. Aim to keep it under 5 or less. If you die more than 7+ times in an average game, then you are probably not helping your team.
