Got Gold V after placement matches

I went 8-2 in the placement games, only playing Vel'Koz. From what I read, you're typically placed lower than where you currently belong. Where would I typically be at, being placed at Gold V after the 10 games?

I went 4-6 on my promos and was plat 5 last season, got gold 5. So idk

5-5 on promo was plat went to s2 and smurf my way back up to g2 lol

You're actually more likely to get placed higher than you may actually be when after your first ever 10 ranked games. Its players who were already ranked who typically drop down.

My brother placed Silver 2 his first season (s5) and he's currently bronze 4 and still losing like every game xD. So its hard to say. Nor do i know how good you are lol.

Well, I do have a 7.05 KDA so far.. I haven't played any more ranked since my placements due to illness.

Was gold V, went 6-4, was hoping to drop to bronze after reading ppl's comments but I got placed back to gold V.

Love that squid! I prefer him mid lane, but it's so much easier to carry as a support, imo.

Getting Gold V in placements is pretty good, it's hard getting any higher than that even if you go 10-0. A lot of players who go 10-0 don't even get Gold V in placements on a new account.

Tough to say where you actually belong though since it is a new account. Only way to find out is keep playing, but you'll likely climb fast atm.

10-0 on a fresh account with zero lifetime ranked games is an automatic gold 1 placement. Fyi. Fresh account placement algorithms have been the same for years and years now. You can 100% determine where you will place based on the win order and amount. Duoing will have a slight effect and its possible to place in plat 5 if you duo all 10 matches and win them all.

If your account previously held a rank it would have ended the preseason at about 1600-1700MMR and been ranked in the gold 2-plat 4 range most likely.
