alone = win with friend=lose

When me and my friend play alone oon our own, we almost always win, but when we play together we ALWAYS lose. Why?? Is there something in the match up or what?

The game is somehow mmr balanced. I'm not sure how exactly it works, but I think it pulls in a duo on the opposing team, and then adjusts both teams to even out the mmr of the game.

Lets say it was a 3000mmr game to illustrate this with some math.

For instance if you and your friend have high mmr(2000), and the duo you matched against had lower mmr(1200), then the remainder of the enemy team would have higher mmr to match up, and your team would have lower mmr to match up.

For instance the enemy team would have another 1800 mmr for 3 players, if we just average that out, thats 600, 600, 600, 600, 600.

Your team would be 1000, 1000, 333, 333, 333. Naturally all of your other lanes would probably lose. If you guys went adc/support, then one of you isn't a carry which means that 1000 is also significantly reduced- unless you carry your lane super hard before your team feeds.

Again, I'm not clear exactly how the matching of mmr works, but its something like this- I find that I very often lose games when I have a duo as well- and I specifically notice that my teammates always seem to be specifically horrible in those games.

Personally I think the matchmaking system is broken atm. I have a post going with details about why I think this is the case and some ideas in regards to fixing the ladder system and getting better matched games.
