Balancing Support's Income and Iron Solari.

Here's a list of problems I have had added up together for this season and why I think supports need a serious update:

  1. Supports have to buy a sub par item just to generate gold for them.

  2. Supports have to buy Sightstone and Vision Wards despite they make the least amount of gold

  3. Since CDR is hard to get this season some supports have to spend their money building Ionian boots making them lack even more stats compared to boots like Swiftness or Tabi/Merc. (Which in my opinion is because the lack of CDR options)

  4. Games are A LOT shorter this season and I feel supports are lacking even more since their gold income isn't any faster.

  5. Finally the last straw for me is Locket of the Iron Solari. It's pretty much the win rate of this item and the fact that its base stats are so bad for the person using it. Basically if no one buys this item your entire team will suffer and normally it is up to the support to always get this item. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't feel like something you HAD to get to win team fights. Even challenger supports have admitted to feeling forced to buy this item.

If they nerf the base stats it makes supports even weaker, but if they buff the stats the item becomes even more of a problem of teams having to pick it up. I honestly think it's an item that's just in a bad position. I don't care if it's a community made item or not, it's up to Riot to balance their game and make all roles have fair game play. Playing support is getting more and more annoying when you have to spend half of your entire gold income on stuff you feel that's necessary to win as a team despite that you have the lowest gold, are the lowest level in the game and having an item build that's practically useless mid game.

As a Support main, I disagree.

I never feel forced to buy it nor do i always get it. The enemy team comp is what makes me decide what items to get if i'm playing a tanky support.

As an AP support, it's AP and CDR items.

Also, i always get the gold items with the wards (Equinox and Watcher for example) because it has decent stats and gives stealth wards. That way it frees up space for an item i would really need.

And the support item build is only useless in the start. Mid to late game, Supports can make plays of their own.

And i never have trouble getting cdr or gold. Why? Because of my gold items and the assists.

So no, i don't think Supports need a serious update. Do they perhaps need a few better gold income items as well as items specific to them? Of course. With FQC nerfed thanks to mid laners, supports could always use more items.
