Akali Bug?

So from watching the ability intro from the champion spotlight, it seems like the second part of her ultimate is supposed to do AoE damage. After doing some minor testing in the practice tool it seems to only do damage to the first target hit, even if it is a minion, target dummy, or another champion. I am just interested to know if this is a bug or not.
