RITO why are tanks doing the same burst damage as a 20 kill fizz while having 3k HP more? Balanced?

Naut, Poppy, Shen, consistently topping the damage charts in the games they are in. This is plain unbalanced, when theres a 2k+ hp difference between them and the champions they are out damaging.

  • EDIT *
This was a low gold game. Im well aware of sustained vs burst, but each of shens abilities were hitting for 700+ endgame. enough to burst down a 3k hp Malz(me) and our jhin with a combo. Wish I had recorded that game, it was constant sustained burst, which is ridiculous. If youre going to be tanky enough to 1v4 for 30 seconds, you also should not be able to 1 shot carries

sustain vs. burst, dawg. Shen can only push people out for a bit and apply pressure until the go back to base and immediately return, fizz actually does damage that kills champions.

We won regardless, but he was definitely not going in and out. Tanky enough to walk through our heavy CC comp (naut, malz, leona, jhin) and 1 shot our fed and double defensive item jhin. He was 1v3'ing people who were not behind and easily picking up 2 kills and walking away

Because they keep dealing damage over long periods of time, while assassins pop and do nothing else afterwards. I've had plenty of games where I've out damaged assassins as SUPPORTS because I've been staying in the fight.

Honestly what even is the counterplay to that? By the time you cc them and kill them the rest of the enemy team would have torn you to bits how is this in any way balanced? What do you even do in a teamfight with this kind of thing? You ignore them, they kill you. You focus them, their team still kills you because they have so much hp they'd tank a full rotation of your abilities and still survive long enough to deal damage.

kills mean nothing. Assassin deal burst damage on 1 target while tank provide aoe damage with sunfire cape, skills and thornmail... Nothing new --'

Assassin are rarely top in term of damage... And once again, 20 kills dosnt necessarily mean you dealt the most damage on your team.

You need to think with your head before talking.

tanks need to deal damage or else you can just kite them.

You need to think with your head instead of your semi-overpowered main.

Well the thing is, he always was my main, OP or not. People keep saying he is weak and some say he is OP.

He is strong, not OP.

When a tank can dash to you, taunt you for two seconds, deal 15% of your max health in magic damage and be nigh unkiteable (in addition to the dodge) something is going wrong.

It's like I'm fighting old Poppy but less bursty.

My guess would be the fact that they have a lot of AoE damage. It was not against a single target.

Shen has one AoE ability, and it's probably his weakest form of damage.

This is exactly why. They have more health and can stay alive longer while dealing damage more steady than an assassin or burst mage. Assassins pick off one target in a fight and don't have anything left. Tanks stay there and fight until a fight is decided. There's also more health on the other tanks that they're probably fighting the most, but in the case of assassins, they dive the back to nuke a 1-2k hp carry and ditch.

tl;dr Tanks are fighting things for longer that have much more health than what an assassin is doing.

Yes but they arent doing low, sustained damage. they are bursting just as hard as the carries, over, and over. at least assasins are killable 1v1, it took at least 4v1 to take down shen, and thats still losing 1 or 2 in the fight. Wish i had recorded that game

it's actually always been easy to get a lot of damage when your really tanky. 1 reason is that people generally don't focus you and try to avoid using stuff on you and so you can freely attack the entire fight another is that since you live a long time even when focused so that you can still get some damage off and some Aoe from abilities and sunfire add up especially when you add 1 and 2 to this. I mean there are times where tanks are op or whatever but really adc's are pretty strong right now and they look even stronger because mages are weak right now. Once mages get reworked items it will weaken the power of tanks since they will have to buy more MR and it will weaken assasains and it will weaken adc's all that power will go to mages and if they do it right the game will enter a very intresting meta where a lot of teamcomps will be viable, a lot of champions will be playable even at top levels of play and how broad this viability will be will depend on how well riot makes this mage rework.

Shen is OP. He brings huge utility, safety, engage potential, counter engage, is tanky as all hell.

And he has damage. Its not release Tahm level (not including W), but its not very far off.

He doesn't excel in any single aspect outside of counter-engage, but its all pretty overbearing in its sum, not to mention how he basically invalidates a large portion of melees due to his team-wide auto attack dodge. It makes teamfighting impossible for any auto-attack reliant melees.

He needs nerfs somewhere, and the first place I'd look is his W. Needs a WAY higher energy cost.
