its to note, that garens winrate even for experienced players doesnt break 53%.

most champions have an average lower winrate, but a much higher winrate for people who have a lot of games played on them. typically around 55% to 56%.

for example has an overall low winrate just below 50% on average, but a 55% winrate for people who have played a lot of games on her.

garens mean winrate might look high, but its only because people quickly cap out on him, while some other champions have a steeper learning curve and larger skill cap.

i wouldnt mind a power shift of like 10 less damage on his q, if they would significantly scale up the animation speed of the ability in return. this would lower his winrate at the lowest divisions, where people arent playing their champions well, and increase his effectiveness in the hands of more skilled players who want to use it to interrupt specific enemy abilities quickly, and use it as an auto attack animation cancel.

right now, his q animation is incredibly shitty. against a lot of champions, theyre having so much time that theyre getting the exact abilities through that you want to prevent them from casting in the first place, before the q has a chance to connect.

lets say garen wants to use his q to stop an enemy from ulting one of his allies. its literally impossible with the slow animation speed. every ability in zeds kit will always go off before garens q connects.

I would love to see your source for that win rate, because mine says 53%. Not a big difference in percentage, sure, but it is a difference.

Also, if Garen used a build that let him reach 5,000 health his damage would be pretty darn crap, and proper team play would be able to blow him to pieces. You can't get health like that while also doing good damage, it's simply not something his kit can reasonably do. That makes the claim he can do great damage to tanks while also having that health even more silly.

I'm all for a discussion on Garen's strengths and weaknesses, talking about which ones are healthy and which need work, but for that to happen you're going to have to learn about your subject matter first.

The win rate is very reasonable 54%, however, when he plays against weaker or less experienced player he will be unstoppable. how to make him not so unstoppable? ask the team to help against him. i.e more ganks and roaming. if you let garen passively farm. without the team's help. OF COURSE he will be unstoppable. 5k HP are you playing 40+ mins game ... that's too much.

Just kite him.
