The current state of AP and AD
> Currently, and for a while now; Riot seems to have been heavily favoring AD champions, mechanics and even items over AP ones.
- Where there's an amazing diversity of AD items with other passives or actives, there's a very limited choice of AP items. The fact that there's only a single item
that will increase armor AND AP which doesn't even build into a core-item
on most AP-champs is just dumb (especially with the new lethality). AD-champions have a choice of at least 3 items to protect them from magic damage without having to sacrifice a slot to a non-damage item:
Edge of night,
Maw of malmortius, and
mercurial scimitar. And one of those even has lethality, just in case your enemy started building armor. Furthermore, the only Defensive option for offensive AP-champs against other AP-champs is
Abyssal sceptre which is in its own a decent item but that doesn't take away from the fact that choices are extremely scarce. AD-champs have no damage + armor items, and for a reason. They can build to counter AP without having to fear that they will be out-damaged by other AD-champions.

- If you look at Twisted Treeline, you can see that Riot actually had to add items for AP-champs because most items needed that would work to build in normal games take too long on TT.
Wooglet's witchcap and
Moonflair spellblade even out the playing field a bit more on TT. With Riot openly pushing for games to be more active earlier on and end sooner, they added items for AD champions and changed mechanics. The 2 most recent AP items were almost instantly nerfed to where they are now rarely used. On top of that they only fit very specific playstyles on few champions. Meanwhile, AP equivalents to AD anti-tank items are non-existent. Deathfire grasp and Blackfire torch were removed a long time ago but a real alternative to their passives adapted to the current state of LoL was never introduced again.
> I believe we need new AP items or at the very least an update to the old ones.
is not anti tank, it is honestly better for the pen for squishies...
