Is Ahri playable?

So I bought Ahri last night because I wanna own all champs and I'm down to the 4800 tier of champs (only 11 left total) and played about 5 games of her in mid. Is there any champ that doesn't push better than her? I was against an ekko and a talon and they both did sooo much more damage with their pokes and all ins (I lost lane pre-6 cause I was pretty tilted) I know that ahri has pretty crap mana costs and that alot of her wave clear has to be done with autos , but I just could not keep up.

Am I terrible, or is this champ just getting fucked by everyone else?

(I usually play ziggs orianna and malz mid for playstyle reference)

Just try to land your charms and then followup with your other abilities. But try not to spam your abilities too much. Due to the changes made to doran's ring, wave clearing with your abilities during early game might not be a good idea for now.

Ive been an Ahri main since release, and her current iteration isnt horrible but, there are many other champions that reward you with more for less effort in the mid lane.

ive been pretty turned off by Ahri for a few seasons now, the only reason i continue to play her is cause i know the champion so well i can still out perform players at a higher level.

it takes so much more effort to kill other assassins with her, as it takes for them to kill you, and thats the main thing i hate about her. You have to play it perfectly, where champs like Talon, FIzz, Leblanc, Zed have much more room for error when engaging on you.

Just think of her as zoe but instead of sleepy bubble it's your charm. Land that and they melt. Dont land it and be bored and wait until u land a charm.

Her laning is garbage but if you don't get destroyed she is better when she gets items.

If i plan on playing Ahri i'm permabanning Cassiopeia just cause of how garbage ahri's laning is.

Thanks for the input guys. Seems like it's not ENTIRELY me being crap, but a bit of the champ as well. I may hold off on trying to do anything with her for awhile then. Thanks guys.

For a bit more on the conversation though if anyone is interested, what would help her out to be less crappy in lane? Do you think riot needs to drop her mana costs so she can use that for wave clear? Make her W actually worth while? Or (and this is my random drunken idea, no real thought put into it) possibly raise her attack speed/base AD so that she can be a bit more reliable to hold on to her spells for poking?
