So i have a problem.....
I earned my world tokens through blood, sweat, and tears to get the golden Ashe chroma. I unlocked it and it only gave me the ward skin. Do I need the actual skin to get the chroma?? Help anyone?? Will it show I have the chroma if I have the skin??
Mysticman892 votesChromas are essentially skins for skins, so yes you need the base championship ashe skin in order to use it.
If you have the skin, you'll have the option to use the chroma or the base version when choosing the skin.
edit: It's worth noting that you can unlock championship ashe on a later date, and the chroma will be there waiting for you, even if you only actually get championship ashe years from now.

Mysticman892 votesRandom rioters confirmed it in H&S if it's not in the FAQ directly for worlds, loading a game atm so can't check.
All previous border/icon things have generally worked that way, and on occasion if someone manages to get a skin without having the base champ (usually due to having the base champ removed for some reason, such as billing issues), they still keep the skin and it just sits on their account until they have the base again. I don't see any reason why they'd design chromas any differently.

C9SenpaiSimba1 votesTbh I may be wrong but I think Riot stated that you still had to purchase the skin to be able to use the chroma. They also said the chroma may come available again through different missions in the future.
