So can we please get rid of the ranked time slots? I'm getting real tired of not getting to played ranked with my friends just because it's not that particular time of day, and if you use the excuse of "it's there to offset the dynamic queue" can we at least get rid of it for ranked 3's? Because ranked 3's does not have dynamic queue.
Locke Daemonfire1 votesIt's not there to offset dynamic queue, it's there because there aren't many people that want to do ranked 3's and making them all queue at the same time improves matchmaking.
Big Daddy CB2 votesIf you read my comment i'm saying it is implemented into ranked 5's to offset the dynamic queue, but then i ask why it needs to be there for ranked 3's if dynamic queue was never there in the first place. In this post by riot they explain that the time slots were allotted because of the addition of dynamic queue to ranked 5's http://euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/competitive/ranked-5s-queue-returns-during-scheduled-windows but seeing as how dynamic queue was never part of ranked 3's i don't understand why it needs to be restricted to specific times of day.
Locke Daemonfire1 votesYou misunderstand. They didn't limit ranked 5's to a schedule because of dynamic queue directly. They limited ranked 5's to a schedule because there aren't many people queuing for it, which is because of dynamic queue.
By the same note, they limited ranked 3's to a schedule because there aren't many people queuing for it. Not many people queue for it for other reasons, but the direct reason for the schedule is the same.
Big Daddy CB1 votesso i had a 2 paragraph, well thought out response that took me about 40 minutes to write then my power went out and i'm going to lose my mind, so here are some of the main points of what i said in bullet point form
•Ranked 5's queue times were only long if you're getting into diamond-challenger territory (side note^ i watch the master/challenger streams and queue times were better than being constricted to a time of day) •The new time slots are hurting less know streamers since all the league streamers have to start around the same time now •Ranked 3 queue times were never a problem •This implementation of time slots is negatively affecting the ranked 3's community. •Not everyone can play during these times (as agreed by KAI5ER) •The queue times are now longer in ranked 3's because (see above^)

Not everyone can be around at that time. my friends and i often work evening/nights we end up being around all morning/afternoon and aren't allowed to play. But midnight is totally peek time for ranked 3's.
Riot said "We disabled ranked teams at the start of the season because we were unsure how match quality and queue times would be affected by the addition of dynamic queue. Locke Daemonfire1 votesI'm sorry that the schedule they have selected is not amenable to non-traditional work schedules such as yours. I'm only trying to explain why they set it up that way (see other reply). Having not played in either queue, I cannot speak to how well the new system has met its goal, and whether or not it is worth the trade-off.
