Why is autofill still a thing?

I don't care about having to wait 10 minutes to get into a game, remove autofill already. It literally slaughters you in low elo everytime someone gets autofilled jungle because they just afk farm the entire game thinking they've done a good job. If it's an autofill carry they just int their ass off and have 0 presence while afk farming lanes because they think that's what they are supposed to do.

If you do anything great in the next 5 years, removing autofill needs to be at the top of the list.

I love this posts... shows the lack of pretty much common sense or entitlement of most people. You aren't just going to be waiting 10 mins. You are going to be waiting for that initially maybe but as time goes on it'll go higher and higher until you are easily getting 30+ min queue times. Are you willing to wait that long? Do you think others would be willing to wait that much? You seem to also have this dumb perception that at low elo it even matters what people play. They'll feed just as hard regardless of the role they are in.

before auto fill even existed I think the highest que time I ever got was 15 minutes, in gold elo. Auto fill is literally only causing more harm than good. I was in a que just last week that lasted 25 minutes with autofill enabled... What's that tell you?

I got 50 minutes in diamond. Master+ is even worse.

You want to know what was before autofill? It was "pick order" sorry but no. You want to be able to pick your role? You need autofill. Or are you talking about teambuilder? The mode where if you weren't support you could get close to hour long queue times? I was a silver scrub and me trying to get a game of mid resulted in me getting hour long queue times in teambuilder.

While it's true queue times would be higher as you progress the ladder, it doesnt change the fact that it can single-handedly decide the game. Especially if you get autofilled in roles like jg or supp.

Autofill is a problem, simple as that.

Autofill is a problem, simple as that.

Ok... so your solution is to make it impossible to find games in any decent amount of time... yeah what is a worst problem then? I would say not being able to play the game is a much bigger problem than people who refuse to learn the basics of a role.

Wouldn't it be crazy if people were expected to learn and play more than one role? Man, crazy right!?

And better still, imagine a system that assesses your performance IN THAT ROLE and places you against other players with roughly the same skill level as the role you're playing.

Imagine being a high gold mid laner, but being an iron junlger, ... getting autofilled into jungle ... AGAINST IRON PLAYERS .. so you can actually learn the role and improve. Instead of being placed against a gold jungler and getting shit on.

Imagine!

But no, people don't want a system that evaluates your skill by role. They just want to play the only role and the 5 champions they know. Give them anything else and ... well the truth that they won't admit is, ... they suck.
