No boots/Bloodrazor Diana?

So my friend has been playing league for about 4-5 months and maining jungle Diana for about 3 months now. He is SET on the idea that Boots are worthless on her and the Bloodrazor is bettter than the Runic Echos enchantment on the jungle item. He thinks this because he couples it with nashors tooth as his second item instead of boots.

He has also told me rumors about how he can solo baron with his 6 item Diana.

Personally, I think this is pretty poo and believe that the runic echos boots and building more of an ap tanky nuke type jungler with nashors tooth being a later buy. The lack of early game tankiness makes you target to anyone with burst and cc and the lack of boots makes it impossible to get out of any kind of engagement.

Now, I don't know if i'm missing something with this or if i'm just right, but is Bloodrazor enchant and nashors tooth without boots any way to play diana?

One of my mains is Diana. I've never tried Bloodrazer + Nashors on her in a normal or ranked game, though, I can't imagine it would be that great.

For it to be half decent, Diana would have to be in longer battles so that she can get many autoattacks off. She'd have to build tankier and maybe a bit of sustain too. But that would mean that she'd have less AP and her abilities wouldn't do much damage. It would also mean that the bonus damage she gets on autoattacks from her passive and Nashor's tooth passive would be a lot less. It seems like a trade-off that wouldn't work well in general unless she's ahead.

Tell him boots are one of the most important items in the game. Because it is.

I saw someone build rage blade on her and no idea how she had a high win rate with her

If he doesn't enjoy boots you can offer runic echos + Lich bane. Those two items give Diana the MS of Tier 2 boots without actually purchasing them. I would advise him to take note that bloodrazors damage is percent hp (ad damage, I think?) So it isn't that great on her. If he wants to play a more attack speed style build, nashors tooth + attackspeed marks and then off tank AP items are a great alternative.

These are things you can suggest in small doses in game. Diana has many playstyles -- AD onhit doesn't work too well for her though.
