Is learning TF a waste of time?

I'm level 23 and I'm getting fairly good at TF and I am just wondering if he is a good person to main when I get ready for ranked?

TF will always be good to some degree if your global awareness is good enough to let you pull off nonsense with his ult.

You don't think its the gold card and waveclear? His ult cd isn't low enough to be an enormous factor.

TF's ult is an enormous factor. His waveclear lets him push so he can then roam and his gold card gives him solid ganks despite having subpar damage, but every time his ult is up he can use it to provide some massive advantage to his team.

He can help you. He is a lot like ahri in my opinion. Doesn't do anything to a super high degree, but sort of does everything really really well, to the point that he can fill out a lot of good team comps and you can build him to do something your team needs more of.

If your team needs more wave clear, build that ekko item. If you need more cc build cdr, and start pulling gold cards. If you need more vision, you have ulti (that's a pretty big cooldown tho).

When I see my team pick a bunch of hyper carries with no cc, and then I see the enemy pick master yi, I immediately take twisted fate. By the time yi gets out of control I have athenes and morellos and about 100 gold cards coming out my ass just for him.

If I see my team loaded up with too many melee champs, I bring his waveclear and poke. If we have a lot of tanks Ill try to go for more burst. It all depends, but he can do things to balance your team out and that's the point.

Yes, he is a very good champ to learn if your goal is to climb ranks. He has a huge impact on other lanes and can do well enough in his own as well.

Basically any champ that can get not only your own lane going but also top/mid is going to be a good champ to learn and TF is one of the best at it.

double edged sword. he can carry, or he can feed. all up to player.

Why even make such an empty statement?

why is it an empty statement? its a realistic view of the champion. he isn't blatantly op, and when he is behind he doesn't have dueling power, so he is a double edged sword, and all of the "is he good or bad" comes down to the player.'

i came to a thread, and made my point about it. what more do you want?

Like just about every other champion in the game? -_-

LF Annie1 votes

not every, but around 60% of champs are viable soloQ carry choices if the player knows how to play it.

I'd say every champion comes down to "if the player is good/bad" and I dont think TF is as hit or miss in terms of usefulness as you make him out to be. But thats just my opinion. To each their own.

it all comes down to operator success, as with everything skill related.

In my opinion tf is one of the few mids that can hardcarry the entire team. He can farm&guard his lane while having strong global presence - even more so if he picks up teleport. He's already decent early game with infinite mana sustain in lane. His ult grants pick potential, vision, and lifesaver when you want to scare opponents off from chasing weakened teammates. A good tf ult can be the game-ending factor. Hence I'd say yes it's a fairly good choice to main on while testing your global awareness, as others have mentioned.

I don't play tf, though, because he sux in aram late game I don't look at minimap.

A lot of champs can carry the game by stomping whoever they run into, but tf carries the team itself. He can babysit all 3 lanes, ensure entire team's safety, strengthens teammates by finding picks, hardpush lanes&burst down towers when necessary, and close game when opportunity presents itself. Lots of champs can stomp hard or make game-changing plays, but I can't think of any other that can cover the team as well as he does.
