What happened to some of the champs?

Some champs now no longer used or when you try to play them people poke fun this they are going to lose now that you picked that champ in blind ques. I love playing Taric, but I always get grief from people because all he does is have health and armor. If they are all AD GG we win. Why is it that when the enemy has three AP champs that Taric becomes useless. Since he has no peel what so ever he just gets poked till he backs as a support. I play him top and the enemy top goes armor pen. I loose. He needs something to get noticed again.

He is in the works for a rework. He has been for awhile. He was a passable support until they started actually making support champions, in which he started to fall off. All their attempts at making him viable with a revamp have gone poorly because it just made him OP in top/mid and then he got nerfed to the ground again.

A lot of the older champions simply don't have as many tools to deal with situations as the newer champions, so they either rely on high stats, being gimmicky good at one thing (i.e Taric and armor) or having terrible stats but absurd scaling (Poppy). Most of these guys will be addressed eventually with Poppy and Taric next on the list and we'll see where it goes from there
