My feedback on PBE Vladimir

Vladimir is undergoing a rework. Current expressed feedback from a couple of PBE players is that:

  • Q feels unsatisfying

  • E is clunky

My proposed changes to fix this:

Remove the damage amp from Crimson Rush; increase Q damage accordingly

Tie Crimson Rush to something other than Transfusion casts, such as possibly: - A total number of spellcasts - A total amount of health spent
(with a health cost on Q. I prefer this one.)

Tides of Blood projectiles pass through units but deals decreased damage to consecutively hit units.

I think this would be a more exciting Vladimir, that still retains the counterplat he currently has.

If anything, please look at the Crimson Rush suggestion. I love playing Vlad, and the thought of "spend a lot of health, gain a lot of healing back" sounds so exciting.

I don't think Riot would undo the damage amp. The whole point of reworking that ability was to add windows of strength and weakness within a spell that otherwise lacked counterplay. (even if they did maintain the Health sustain.)

tying it to all his abilities would likely make him scale way to well with CDR. And it's already far to similar to already existing passives. (Ryze and sona come to mind that have that spell slinger aspect to them.)

And I wouldn't think it be wise to base it on HP spent, for a champ who is already becoming more specked to build HP.

I'm not sure that I understood this point. The suggestion didn't mean to increase his health costs.

Idk I like him so far!

I also am not a Vlad player though, so maybe the reason you find him "clunky" now is just due to it being different then what you're used to?

The E not passing through minions I feel is necessary. I mean even with reduced damage you could get a constant source of free lane harass that you can just heal back on minions, there would be some match ups where Vlad's lane opponent literally couldn't enter lane. With the ability stopping on minions not only does it give your opponent some way to actually deal with your damage (by using the minions), but it also requires you to control the minion wave and position around them better, which I think is rather easy to do anyways lol

Biggest problem is that they made him kind-of stronger in team fights (new E is stronger), but he was known to be realy realy weak early, vs anything with any kind of gap closer, and what did they do? THEY NERFED his early dmg.. so he is so weak early, that he wont be even playable on lane vs anything competetive. His Q is a joke now, its weaker than Kassadin Q.. thta 2.5 sec time for "strike back".... well.. so all you have to do vs him is go back for 2.5 sec every 20-15 sec.. yeah, what a counterplay! Also, I think that fact, that your opponents know exact CD of your Q is just idiotic.

And another think.. easiest thing how to beat vlad i just buy 1 big MR item, and mby boots.. and if you are guy with big hp base stats(like rene) you wont have any problem vs him.. and now, with new changes, vlads Q deals nothing, and if you wana fight guy with MR on lane, you will be dealing same or less dmg to them compared with dmg that E will cost you.

I like his e but feel the damage scaling should be evened out slightly (like 0.1 scaling swap) that way it makes his q more satisfying, leaves the play element and means he can't 1 shot people late (try building health and ap only and see how much he does). Also they are working on his e blocking (minions only block 1 and there is now a mini-aoe when they are blocked (at least according to the patch notes, don't have pbe so only can watch footage).
