im a pretty new player having just yesterday reached level 30. i leveled up almost 100% in aram with only 6 wins in normals summoners rift matches. but for some reason matchmaking has decided my aram elo should be the same as it is for summoners rift.

since i reached level 30 i thought i would try a few normals to eventually be ready to try ranked. but it is horrible. i am matched up against exclusively high silvers with hundreds of wins and i have no chance against them. in two games i have yet to score a single kill. i am just helpless and i feel bad for my teammates. i am afraid to try even normals now.

why would my aram mmr be linked to my summoners rift? they are complely different games.

it isn't linked but silver is the baseline. 1200. If you have no MMR, you go against silver

Try to use the experience to learn. Most silver just have a beter understanding of basics and don't tend to pull of anything to flashy or in depth. Just watch your opponents closely and see if you can pick anything up like positioning and timing and when and when not to fight.
