Role and Champion Quests
I was wondering if the concept of having specialized quests or achievements for every champion and role would be an interesting way of achieving Mastery upgrades. I think the current way of getting 3 S games and then having to have Blue Essence, Shard, or a Permanent doesn't really show mastery and is very lackluster when thinking about it as a goal.
I was thinking that to reach the highest level of Mastery for a champion there would be specialized achievements that the player would have to do during the game to upgrade Mastery. Lets take Bard for instance.
For Mastery 6 you would still need the S game tokens but you would also have 1 Champion Quest and 1 Role Quest. For Bard that Champion quest would revolve around something specific just to his kit, such as his ult. Maybe like have 3 instances of hitting 5 enemies in your ult. Then there would be a general role quest that would be shared by all champions of the like role. For Bard, being a support, maybe making a ward threshold for a certain amount of games or healing done to champions below 40% health. Something like that.
For Mastery 7 you would have no Role Quest to achieve, but the same standard S tokens as well as a more difficult Champion Quest.
I just thing that these would be more rewarding and interesting seeing how Riot would develop and evolve the quests for each character in League rather than having an odd tie-in to the Chest system for Mastery.
Cheers.
Also: Wasn't sure if this thread would be better in Concepts or Gameplay, sorry.
