How do you counter annie in teamfights?

I just lost to an annie last game that single handedly carried their game by spoon feeding the bot lane, switching with the top lane over and over to counter my 4/1. She was 0/0 when she one shotted me. I was akali. And then late game we couldn't split push or team fight, because if we went in we would be destroyed, and if we waited we would be poked to death. This was her first time ever playing annie in ranked. Anyways, I want to know what I could've done better so can I get advice for how to counter annie in teamfights, or even in the entire game in general? It was frustrating having a lot of kills, a decent amount of farm, and lose to someone with no kills and the same amount of farm as me, and basically even when roaming having no impact because of her dominance. (PS don't recommend me items cause I bought a hexdrinker and was about to build up for Abyssal Scepter and I would still be one shotted 75% of the time.)

Annie is super weak pre 6. Also buying qss at some point in the game could help with negating her stun. A good Sol player easily counters annie pre 6. You can farm the wave and push up super easy and she cant do anything about it then you can farm enemy raptors for free.

PS: Please dont make a thread of how to counter annie and yet refuse advice on items

Ban Annie or take something to counter her. I used to play xerath with exhaust, you outrange her, she has no way to dodge your spells and if she managed to stun you, you can exh her even while stunned. I doubt if akali can counter Annie unless she is super fed and bought rylai, abyssal.

As an Annie main here is my advice.

MR. Pretty standard first respone. Hp and Mr means Annie cant burst and you can preassure her to use or save her. Abyssl is a good rush vs her.
Qss. Denies any burst follow up with her stun.
banshees veil. I hate this item. Any laner who rushes this as their second item seriously screws me over. By the time most mid laners get it they can burst annie down wirh an all in but now she cant burst you in return.

Some champs that can vs her very well

Lux: out ranges and out pokes annie in lane. Its an even lane but played right lux can force Annie out of lane often and put her behind.

Leblanc: war of the burst damage. Early and mud game Leblack will out burst annie. So you gotta be agressive and keep her behind by out bursting her, late game though she will destory leblanc.

Malphite: who takes malphite mid? Honestly this is a no hope match up for annie. Tank and poke with the ap tank hybrid will make annie utterly useless.

Some champs to avoid when going vs Annie.

Yasuo. Probably Annies best match up. Autos pop his shield constantly and ranged stun will stop any enguage and force him out of lane.

Zed: its tricky. Zed CAN out poke annie with Q and W pre 6 but if she rushes a zhonyas she can not only stop your all in ult but can also counter it with her own burst damage. Caution is needed.

Twisted Fate.: annie out ranges, out damages and out stuns. Focus more on roaming then laning.

if you noticed the champ that did the worst in your game had no MR vs annie , your adc cait... that is an issue on its own... partly why annie got fed. galio mid into annie negates her damage to him but it dont help your team... raka did get ages but was trying to role it into banner when locket would of been greater for team fights with the aoe heal for annie's burst and vi's dive, jinx ult burst etc

you build was ok but as akali annie kinda is a nature counter to you and what you want to do as a champ ( she is actually good vs assassin based champs due to her build being ap tanky and her E ) you built item 3156 where as item 3001 item 3102 would of been stronger and the mr reduction from makes your damage stronger cuz you have to engage on champs so the debuff is great and it would helped galio ap damage and kayles as well plus the cdr on it is nice allowing you to spam just a bit more.

when vs annie in team fights it sounds kinda counter productive but dont group / bunch up cuz it would allow her to aoe stun/ ult the entire team instead of having to nuke one target. with your team comp you really had no threat to annie , as akali you should be focusing jinx,sona maybe kindred but with having raka you had a lack of damage on your team and galio really dont do alot damage wise unless stupid ahead..

if you are trying to take out annie as akali is not ideal due to her build , her E and her aoe damage , stun and ult and like i said she naturally is a counter to assassins

ideally your mid should of went brand. syndra , lux they are far better vs annie and provides way more damage then a galio...

so yes annie does a lot of damage and she can nuke with out items... that is what a burst/nuke mage does but part of it was the lack of mr on cait thinking raka can save her from burst ( nope) and over all team comp not providing threats to annie

Counter Annie in teamfights by bursting her down as fast as you can, some good engage by a bruiser/tank and a item 3102 will help you get close to her. It's really hard to go against her as a squishy melee since it's not like she needs distance to be safe - she's already trying to get close to you. Your best bet is to kill her before she can react and when her stun bar has 0-2 charges. 0-1 if possible. Also, defensive items won't work against annie. You expect an item 3001 to counter Annie's burst? Let me say that again, Annie's burst. I'd go full damage with a item 3102 veil and boom. If her stun is up, don't bother 1v1ing her, get someone to eat her stun for you.
