Question about Malphite's W

Now, I'm kinda alright with the changes made to it. I loved what it did before, but can kinda see it working alright now too. It's just gonna need some adjusting to press W for just more damage and the splash rather than the damage and the resistance buffs. What I'm wondering about is did the AoE for the splash damage get changed?

Just went into a custom game to see how Malph's jungling would be affected by the new W, and honestly.. It feels worse than before. Not because of the armor becoming the passive or the damage changes. What bothered me was how clustered enemies needed to be to be affected by the splash damage.

Before, I'd go Gromp then into Blue Buff and I had a system to level 2. When I'd do Blue Buff before this patch, I'd go slap the main creep itself then slap each of the sentries once. The AAs on the large creep would allow the splash from W's former passive to reach them.

Now you can't do that at all unless you pull the large creep out a little and make the creeps cluster almost onto each other. Even tested it out with Raptors later on with AAing the large creep first. The splash from W would only hit the creep I was standing closest to next to the large Raptor and the creep that came close from the back of the pit. The one off to the side wasn't being touched at all unless I used E.

So yeah.. The question is if anyone can confirm that this is intended or not for W's splash radius on AAs is supposed to have been shrunk or not, or if this is just happening to me for some reason. Either way, don't think it'll be that big of a deal.. Just going to need to do some minor tweaks to how to clear camps now to force them to cluster onto each other much more than before for W to be fully used.

Thanks to any that do happen to answer/reply.
