Autofill should be removed.

I noticed that with the recent set of patches and updates, that a mechanic known as "Autofill" has been added.

What it does in concept is shorten queue times by adding a permanent "3rd slot" in Draft Mode, in addition to your primary and secondary roles, that is set to always fill.

Now, don't get me wrong, shorter queue times would be nice and all, but I for one am strongly opposed to Autofill. People play Draft Mode because they don't like playing Blind and being unable to ban in addition to having a much more difficult time getting their preferred role(s) in many cases due to things like slow internet or just plain having a slow computer that can't connect as fast.

But the problem with Autofill is that in the event of the servers deciding the queue is going too long, it forcibly puts you in a fill position, causing problems like an ADC main being stuck in JG, or someone who is at their best up Top ending up supporting someone who doesn't normally play ADC in the first place. Many games I've played recently have had at least 1 person on my team who was Autofilled (often myself) and this causes you to start out the game with a negative attitude because you feel you've been cheated out of your role. The many times I have been stuck Autofilling have ended up with me playing very poorly because I simply am unable to play the role I was given effectively, often ending in my team flaming me or reporting me for feeding in a role that I never even wanted to play.

I appreciate what Riot have been trying to do to shorten queue times, but I am much more willing to spend even a full 7 or so extra minutes just to not have Autofill.

Come on guys, auto-fill isn't that bad. I only got it like twice in my last 20 games. I don't mind "taking one for the team" and playing an off-role once in a while.

However, this common problem of other people not being able to play the roles they were filled in is causing me some headaches. Feeding and such. It's fuckin nuts. But in the old champ select no one knew where they were going until the champ select ended and we got along fine so I'm guessing once people get used to it, this problem would go away.

The one thing about auto-fill that drives me absolutely insane is when I get my role, sometimes twice and the lobbies were dodged and in the 3rd lobby I get auto-filled and no one dodges. I really wish that they would not auto-fill you if you weren't autofilled in a previous lobby that was dodged.

Yes i totally agree.I wait for games 10 mins anyway because people quit or get support.....Its stupid that u dont get the role you want.Dont Riot understand that people only play one role(makes it easy to climb and mastering 1 lane and champion)

My solution is to just boycott the game until they remove autofill. I'd rather 3 hour wait times than playing support or jungle. Why spend 30+ minutes playing a role you hate in the hopes they will let you get your role next game. I played MOBAs back in DOTA Allstars. Back when the game was structured so that no role was mandatory. Thats what they need to do. No role should be essential. They have made the most boring role possible essential to the game. They keep buffing supports under the false assumption that making them more powerful will draw people into playing them. When the game stops being fun it's time to quit and it stops being fun the moment you get a role you hate. I didn't like pickorder any better. I haven't played since autofill came into the game and if everyone who hates it stops playing they will be forced to change it. So don't get frustrated, just stop playing. Let the game die if you have to.
