Ahri Please do not remove Ahri's Q movement speed. It has, for me at least, made Ahri more exciting/fun to play since the change was added into her kit. The movement speed buff she gets helps her reposition and dodge a lot of abilities while trading and in teamfights. Also as a side note the animation made for her is aesthetically pleasing(Plus I just feel strong when I throw out a Q).

In the link I posted it shows that they're trying two versions during the test: ver.1 with bringing back her old charms power flux on enemies, ver.2 bringing more power into her ultimate. (also minor buffs to her W)

Normally I would be fine with this except in both versions they're planning to take away Ahri's Q movement speed and I would definitely hate to see that. It just feels right for her Q buff to be there and wrong to take it away now.

In my opinion Riot could probably decrease the increase in scaling on her abilities and keep the Q buff. Idk why people have been saying she feels underwhelming.

Does anyone else feel the same? I really want to let the designers know about my opinion because I love this champion and would hate to have something implemented that devalued her for me. Let me know what you guys think.

It's incredible you guys are getting the DFG passive back and you're complaining about the Q movespeed.

Ahri mains never dissapoint with their delusions.

I rather like the speed boos on her Q. Feels good for re-positioning/skirmishing. I don't want the damage amp back on her Charm since it just makes Ahri wait until she lands it before she engages.

I agree. I just jumped into training mode to try the changes, and new Ahri just feels bad. I'd rather they kept the Q-Movement speed, and changed how her ult works / nerfed the cool down to be more limiting and fair.

Even if they added a mana-limiting factor to her Ult similar to how they did with Kassadin's Ult so she can't dash away every 70 seconds on 100 mana.

I don't like this version of Ahri at all.

The ult wasnt the problem...

The Q ms speed is.

PhantomPrankster3 votes

nah bro, ahri got some pretty sweet compensation for the removal of that movement speed.

now ahri players can't play brain dead and get away with it

HalcyonDweller1 votes

I dunno, as someone who plays Ahri, that W still looks pretty braindead to use.

its actually pretty fair, you can't use it around multiple people or minions. if you do the intended target will not receive 100% of your damage.

HalcyonDweller1 votes

I think that it is not very skill expressive. It feels really crappy to use something that is mostly controlled by an AI.

Plus if you don't remember Ahri getting to W+R people for unavoidable braindead damage then you'll be reminded soon enough. Considering the damage they added to both W and R.

They should have reworked the W to make it more skill expressive.

Edit: Fairness is not the same as skill-expressive. Also I'm not the person who downvoted your first comment. Just to be clear.

i didn't know that autoattacks of Enemy Adcs are unavoidable. If ahri ever manages to kill u with W R, that just means she is amazingly fed. Even after those changes she deals roughly 150% Ap all 3 dashes and W. And i doubt a Ahri player can deal 140-150% ap on a adc with just R+W she has to use at least 1 R to gapbclose you, which would mean she would deal more smth like 110-120%Ap. tell me how exactly you are dying by just 110-120% ap? Do you die by getting hitted from ahri's E and Q only? No? well guess what that's around 130% Ap and ur health probably is getting from 100-50% max. "depends how fed the Ahri is" Even a fed ahri can't e w q someone to death right now, and that is far superior base damage and scaling compared to just R+W pbe. You know i'm really getting sick of hearing "ahri can just r+w enemys every time her W is worth called being A skill.

HalcyonDweller2 votes

Her W is garbage anyways, that's my point. It shouldn't even be taking up an ability slot on her.

This rework doesn't address the ability that is holding her back from feeling better to play.

Actually the problem with Ahri's safety does not lie in her Q but rather her ult. Her Q MS boost is rather negligible when you consider that she has to momentarily stop to cast it. The problem with her safety lies in her triple dashes, rather than her having a MS boost. She is able to be so safe because she has 3 dashes and a flash that will allow her to put significiant distance in btwn her and an enemy. Not saying that having a triple dash ult is a bad thing, but perhaps the safety nerfs should go into her ult instead.

Her Q mechanics are kind of distinctive on Ahri. She's one of the few champs with access to such an interesting tool. It allows her to reposition in the middle of fights, which allows her a better chance of catching both hits on her enemies, and is a large source of her team fighting and laning power. It's more powerful in laning than in escaping. Think of it as being similar to Kalista's passive, except the repositioning is on a longer CD and less sudden. While I'll grant that Ahri was not created with this mechanic, it has nevertheless become distinctive to her playstyle.

The problem lof safety, as I just said, lies in her multicast ult as a safety tool, and a way to fix that is to do a general increase the CD btwn ult casts. In order to encourage it used as an aggressive tool it's damage could be increased a little, OR if it's cast in the (general) direction of an enemy, this CD time is decreased. Personally I prefer the latter.

They're removing it? Good.

Edit: You got a big fat buff for it too, get out.

Eedat2 votes

For years people wanted the damage amp back on her E. Guess what? You don't get to keep both. The speed buff was added to compensate for the removal of the damage amp. Ahri right now is pretty good. Pretty good winrate and playrates. Now what happens when you give a champ that is already pretty good a massive buff?

Sorry, the days of a steady 54% WR with 20% playrate are over

Edge of Daybreak1 votes

I dislike ahri because she can kill me if i misplay and she used to be good years ago so she should only be nerfed regardless of her actual power level right now. No I will not play her to learn her weaknesses because I believe they do not exist and you cant change my mind

P0IS0N IVY1 votes

I barely notice her Q movement speed when I play her. I'm usually more focused on how little damage I do compared to other mages. Her charm buff is back and I will definitely take that over the ms. I'm glad they fixed her.

Sasogwa1 votes

On the contrary, please do. As long as Ahri keeps her obnoxious safety, she can't be buffed to have decent damage. Those buffs however are huge, I guess Ahri's gonna be 55% winrate all over again.

Skycrowx1 votes

53% max. Her Q ms buff gave her around 7% increase back then, and it never got nerft so i expect it, once being out of the game, that winrate would in theory drop around those 7%

I think more damage is a good trade for reduced safety. She used to be a one shot champion with DFG anyway, her safety kept her meta even after the "nerfs".

HalcyonDweller1 votes

I enjoyed the movement speed on Ahri's Q, but I'm not sure it was implemented correctly.

I would prefer if they keep the movement speed, but only grant it if the ability hits something.

Linna Excel1 votes

I was thinking that they should move her heal bonus on the passive to her Q and have it work every time, move the MS bonus to her passive and work as it does now, and then doing something interesting with her W.

HalcyonDweller2 votes

I disagree on the swapping of her heal and movement speed. Instead I think the movement speed should only be granted if the Q orb hits an enemy on it's way out from her. This makes it more skill expressive to use and less free movement speed.

Her passive should be changed to put stacks on enemies instead of her, amping up the thematic of alluring them and draining their soul.

Her W should be changed / replaced / moved. She definitely needs something more interesting to do with the ability slot. As for what to do with Fox-Fire, I think it would make a good part of a 2-part passive along with the stacking on enemies, it could be made sufficiently difficult to proc or sufficiently weak impact to allow for a 2-part passive, and it could be made into a Spellblade like effect where every time she casts a spell (outside of some internal cooldown) Fox-Fires appear, and she could be rewarded with her heal for landing spells against enemies who have been struck by enough Fox-Fires / other spells.

Ultimate could have it's innate Fox-Fires removed as they would now be a part of her passive, thus making the ability a little bit weaker, but still very important for it's re-positioning in order to help her hit her other skills.

Linna Excel2 votes

Part of me thinks that riot should merge charm and fox fire to do the following: you put a foxfire at a location for a second or two and enemies who are within the AoE are charmed. At the end of its life, anything within the radius takes max HP per second damage for 3 seconds. However in doing that, she'd need a new W that's light on the power budget. Maybe a passive skill with a sheen effect.

HalcyonDweller1 votes

That is an extremely cool idea, and in theory I love it.

I'd want to see it tested first to make sure it was fair / balanced, but I'm absolutely in favor of testing this out.

Another idea would be that casting W sets a slow-moving skillshot in motion that has fox-fires it can fire out at nearby enemies. This would be cool because she could cast it in conjunction with her ult to make it come at enemies from different directions, making it more likely to target the intended enemy.

... I do feel like it’s a pretty fair trade, but I also would like to keep the Q movement speed(then again, what player doesn’t want their main to be as strong as possible without being brain dead and boring to play?). I like playing Ahri not because she can 100 to 0 enemies, but because she moves fluidly. I won’t make a fuss over it if her Q movement speed is removed, but I won’t be too pleased that she’s clunkier to play, even with boosted damage. I mainly play for fun at the moment, so none of this is from a competitive gameplay view.

Malix Farwin1 votes

The Q movement speed promoted toxic gameplay and it should get removed.

HalcyonDweller1 votes

It could have been fixed to remove the toxic gameplay without getting rid of it entirely.

While the Q MS speed was kinda funny "for Ahri" it started to be unfun very soon. Especially last year when her winrate dropped to 52% and then she got hit by another Ap ratio nerf on r and W. Ahri started to be unbelieveable Frustrating to Play. I almost quited her and gave up because i couldn't climb out of Diamond 5-4 Elo with her Anymore. The new Ahri made also alot of famous Ahri Onetricks stop playing her. For example: Elusive Ferret, and even Vertigal, he still Plays her, but he quited for around 4-5 months last year, and now again started to Quit to Play her in Solo queue, he might not tell it, but he certainly is frustrated about the Champs state. And i can understand it. So many games i have lost on Ahri when i completely crushed my Enemy on lane, and got early fed, i was relying on my Team way to much now. I could do only 1thing that was to blow up a single target that is Out of Position, once i started to Poke my damage fall off to every other Champion super hard, Ahri no longer allowed me to win fights when my team was behind, even when i was the one ahead the Most, and that made me more and more frustrated about her. The only way to balance her and make her more rewarding is to remove the Q Movement Speed while giving her back damage that she has lost all over the years from the rework [sg-soraka]

Really sad about losing this. It really made playing her feel unique.
