Anyone Else Cringing in Champion Select?

Hello, So recently I've been playing jg a lot because me and a couple of friend decided to join the Mobafire tournament coming up on the 21st. This tournament is just for fun but I'm not having fun in solo queue. I feel as though no matter how hard I try to shut down an Ekko early game, He out-damages anyone on the team and becomes impossible to fight. I find myself having to waste a ban on him instead of finding someone who breaks my teams composition. As a disclaimer, I'm not trying to appear as though i am a LoL god but i do think I've acquired knowledge of this game over the past 3 years. First off, his kit seems to overwhelm any comp. TimeWinders ap ratio does a total of 80% there and back, while slowing 60%. Ok its a good skill. but maybe i can still outrun him, i may have some cc myself. Maybe a Nasus slow or a Thresh hook. Too bad he gets a speed boost from his passive. there is no out running him. Hard cc seems to be the answer but too bad as soon as he messes up he hits r and he is safe. No conditions except for a 110 second cd at lvl1. on top of a ridiculous escape, it deals aoe damage! Just adding to his mobility is his phase dive. he can "blink" through walls twice. One ability that can move him the distance between 2 towers. A total of 750 range between his jump and his blink. The only ways I've found to counter him are a wind wall or spell shields but I've found him to just be way too mobile to stop a chase and it doesn't matter how hard he gets caught out because he can hit r every 70 seconds at lvl3. Again no matter what i try to do, if he knows the slightly hard mechanics, the game is over. I'm sure ill get a ton of hate from people that just think I'm bad or love to play this OP (in my opinion) champ but I don't think its fair that whoever gets last ban has to ban him in fear that the first pick will get Ekko. Some knowledge of a future nerf from riot(fingers crossed) or maybe some more counter tips will put my mind to rest until my next game that i encounter this extremely mobile, extremely strong champion.

Ekkos strong but to say he overwhelms any comp is a stretch. He has no sustain and is extremely squishy even after his Ult is factored in, not to mention the drawbacks that come with not having a conventional mage with ranged burst to bring into the late game.
