Bard Builds?

So i was wondering what type of bard builds can be made. Usually when i go bard i play the normal support tank and build w/e tanky against whatever the enemy team has. For example, if they've got lots of ad and little ap i'd go for solari, upgraded sightstone, (usually sell the supp item around mid-late game or go for the cdr on eye of the watchers ) either more armor and cdr (frozen heart) or hp and armor (randiuns). For the more mr centered build, i'd go for banshees, stick with solari or get banner if we need the lane pressure (which we usually do).

I'm interested in some experimental builds that are more dmg based. What would make bard an annoying supp? i'm placed in pretty low elo so i've had lots of chances to troll and carry as bard but stick with the faithful tanky/supp build. But just in the case of me going ham with bard, what would be some nice builds to try out? full ap bard? full ad bard? static shiv and rapid firecannon? lichbane + protobelt? Just some stuff that takes into consideration his passive and full kit. Just wonderin...

Ttdr: What would you suggest for some dmg based builds for bard that fully uses his kit. specifically his passive.

I haven't tried it yet, but from what I've heard static shiv + spellthieves is apparently one of the most obnoxious things to do with him. Charge it up, then auto a creep and rake in the free 45 gold while also doing like 10% of your opponent's hp bar at a time.

Digging through through bards probuilds, I see protobelt uncommonly but not rarely, and a few lichbanes. Theres a couple iceborne guantlets as well.

Ignoring what pros have done, you can get kinda silly with on-hit AS builds. He's got built in slows through his passive/q, and his meeps scale with chimes. With enough AS(+on-hit effects), you can unload all your meeps super quickly for a lot of burst. Once he's out of meeps his dps drops somewhat as he 'reloads', but the intial damage will probably scare a lot of people (who aren't outtright dead) into trying to run away, but that's just free extra poke (since they're probably slowed).

Btw, has anyone considered the new duskblade to be viable on a support. Since it reveals wards pretty frequently and can do lots of damage. plus its pretty interested to see a supp with duskblade, i don't think I've ever seen it before. although its hella expensive.

my standard build is usually something like item 2049 item 3092 item 3107 item 3190 item 3158 item 3060, this is very reliable and your base damage scales well thanks to chimes.

if I get item 3110 then i drop the lucidity boots and banner for item 3047 / item 3111 and item 3102

item 3069 is very good on Bard but I recommend taking the spellthief's first because you're a lane bully and you can proc the damage (and the gold) very quickly with AA-Q or two AAs.

something I've been meaning to try is item 3174 because of the new passive being very good. possibly

item 3092 item 2049 item 3174 item 3047 item 3190 item 3056, if you get item 3158 swap ohm for Randuin's

since you asked about damage builds, I'm assuming you still want to play bard support and not mid. so I would recommend something like item 3092 item 3025 item 3001 which are some pretty affordable items on a support's income and also help your team quite a bit too.

if you want to go full HAM then this is the highest damage mid lane AP bard build, personally tested. item 3152 item 3100 item 3135 item 3089 item 3285 item 3020 / item 3158

a less glass cannon build could just substitute the Luden's for either item 3001 or a Rylai's just for its great base stats. (not so much next patch) alternatively, you could try item 3027 item 3100 item 3001 item 3157 item 3158 item 3135 it doesn't burst quite as hard but you'll be fairly tanky and you'll still scale pretty nicely
