Am I the only one who thinks that league is in a pretty good state right now and also not dying?
I'm not very good at writing stuff and it will most likely end up being all over the place so I apologize in advance. League of Legends is dying, league is dead, League will be dead in two years, Riot doesn't know what they're doing, Riot is killing League, Riot doesn't care about league. These things have been said over and over for as long as I can possibly remember. I've been playing league since season 1 and Didn't really notice this trend till around season 4. The reason why I call the league dying thing a trend is mainly because every year or every mid season update Riot makes a major change to shake up the meta. Most people enjoy the changes while some don't. The people who don't like the changes will voice out their opinions and act pretty negatively towards meta changes. In the end it turns into "this is how league dies" or "These changes are garbage screw this game". People complain for about maybe two weeks to a month then everything calms down and things go back to normal. And that's how it was for years, but 2018 is a complete god damn mess. Lets start with the rune changes. Personally I think the new runes are a breath of fresh air for league of legends considering how long we've had the old rune system for. Obviously there was a portion of the community who did not like this change, but league is a game where you have to adapt or be left behind, as sad as that is to say it is the brutal honest truth. Now as cool as the new runes were there was one giant issue with one of the trees that contained an item called stopwatch. Stopwatch was a pretty good meme the first week or two, but it quickly became unbelievably frustrating to play against since diving champions became almost impossible. The community was pushing through with these changes until a certain Hashinshin video came out where he expressed his... anger towards Riot games. To sum up the video(The video is called Hashinshin finally losses it)He had 5 major complaints. He thought blast cones were too short,he did not like stopwatch because it stopped diving, he hated how many shields people were getting from supports, how bruisers did not have a keystone that suited them, and last but not least how tanks were ruling top lane for the past 3 years. What really caught my attention in the video was him saying that Riot Games didn't care about League. Which is interesting considering all of his major complaints were solved in less then 4 months. Blast cones spawned later so rushing to gank top was as viable anymore, stopwatch got nerfed to 8 minutes, Janna,Lulu,Karma the 3 big shield supports got hard nerfed(karma, lulu more so then Janna)Then bruisers got the conqueror keystone which brought almost all bruisers back and made it to where they could dominate against tanks. Suddenly bruisers were back on top and tanks were on the bottom which in turned shifted the entire meta to be more aggressive. Sadly no one talks about how Riot made such nice changes to the game since I guess its bad to say nice things about Riot games nowadays. Now that that is said lets get to the point of my message. All these changes that Riot has done lately with adding conqueror, Tanks being dethroned after 3 years, Promoting more aggressive plays early on instead of turtling in lane, making scuttle crab worth more for more early game scraps in the river, and the big one being ADC's being nerfed to the ground. All these changes makes it looks like Riot cares about league more than ever, also as much as the ADC nerfs suck for the all AD exclusive mains out there, for everyone else you can play pretty much whatever champion you want in league right now which has made the game FAR more enjoyable then it was at the start of this season. Personally I haven't had this much playing league in years and this is coming from someone who has been there since almost the beginning. At this point I'm just making this post to see if there are more people like me who legitimately enjoy league right now instead of memeing about it being a garbage game which personally I don't think it is. Now for my last thing, For those of you who think that league is dying because of twitch viewers not being as high as they used to be, let me say this one thing. TWITCH VIEWS DO NOT CORRELATE A GAMES PLAYER BASE. Welp that's pretty much what I think about league right now, but please share your opinion on the matter as well I'm generally curious on what people actually think on this subject instead of hopping on the league is dying/league is bad trend. Also thanks for reading through this awful mess of a page I made.(I do not hold any Ill will towards Hashinshin I am merely stating the issues that he mentioned)
