LeaverBuster Program and Why I am not fond of it

Is there anyway to tell the difference between someone actually dodging champion select and the game crashing or kicking the player out. I was in champ select 3 times and the game just suddenly closed out on me. I log back in and had to wait the 5, and 10 minute leaverbuster auto punish and it wasn't even my fault. The client did it and I hate dodgers so much that I never do it because I know how it feels. The program should be able to tell the difference btw game crashing causing a player to get kicked from champ select vs. someone actually dodging.

The problem is, the only way for people to dodge is to shut down the client, given that there isn't any sort of button to do it. Having the game malfunction and having to dodge effectively create the same effect, shutting down the client. There's no way to determine which is intention and which isn't.

As far as I can tell, their system doesn't punish actual afkers or dodgers, just people who disconnect or crash. Period. I play with someone who d/cs constantly in ranked, never punished. My game constantly crashed while just trying to play an ARAM because of something wrong on Riot's end, and I get hit with punishment. I don't know how this system works, but its not to punish the actual people doing wrong.

I've been punished by LeaverBuster for actual leaving the game (I was new and didn't know how to mute people) and for having a bad internet connection on my end (router issues).

I have not been punished for actual client problems that caused me to be booted from champ select or entering a game. So there has to be something that signals a difference.

I just get so mad when this happens to me and it has happened to a couple buddies of mine. I hope they can work this out, hopefully make the entire punishment system better. I don't know about you guys but being in bronze is the most toxic thing I've ever seen. The crazy thing is that it rubs off on people. People I used to love playing with have now become the toxic people I dislike and I had to block them just to try and hold on to the little sanity and non-toxicity I have left.
