How THE F*** does the match making work?

Goes into Aram, teammate AFK (TOO OFTEN), or my teammate trolls, or enemy team HAS POKE and I can't do anything. Goes in SR mid feeds, or top feeds, or jungle feeds, or my adc feeds. (TOO OFTEN) What's the third gamemode? Not URF? Why bother.

How tf does match making work if its supposed to match you against your own skill? Fair matches? "Roughly the same skill" Pffffft don't make me laugh, we all know that's not true at all. So fix it, oh wait forgot Riot won't and if they try they will just F*** it up.

Well to answer; ARAM: Aram matches you vs skill levels close to yours dependent on their abilities in the gamemode, if you've done good with ARAM you probably will get good players, however ARAM is inherently unfair and will usually be unbalanced due to the fact you can be all melee vs all max range mages. Not to say it is unwinnable but ARAM is unfair, accept that as fact.

SR Normals: Summoners rift normals works the same way, placing you in a skill group similar to your own, your AD, JUNG, MID, ETC feeding is due to them losing, do the same thing to their laner, don't make your own mistakes, try to carry, if you lose, oh well. Not much else to say, if you wanna win so badly just go on a tier list and pick whats OP, run Dark Harvest, win lane, try to win game, or stick out with a fun pick and just enjoy the game as a game. Your choice.

However, your last 20 games according to Na.op.gg 19 of your last 20 games are ARAM, and you won your last normal game, so honestly, stick to normal games really or try Nexus Blitz, theres an URF minigame, so its close to that. Its casual and honestly fair, plus you get to try old items like DFG, Force of Nature, ETC.

"Roughly the same skill" As far as the matchmaking systems knows or cares about. It looks on paper for your MMR score then uses that to build a match. A assigned MMR is not inherently accurate to your actual skill. The starting point of a Elo/MMR system is that we do not know what the actual skill of a player is. So it records data and builds its expectation on your skill off the results of that. Riots last official statement on there MM systems accuracy was it takes about 150-300 games for MM to have a good grasp on your assigned skill to actual skill.

A Few important take away you need to have.

  1. Last season you would have needed to play 100 to 250 additional ranked games to hit that expectation. Your data size is inadequate for your Assigned MMR to be accurate or even remove the RNG of teammates.
  2. Skill is a variable because humans are inconsistent. If your playing a new champion your skill might be lower then your main. If your playing on a off day, might be lower then your average. If your playing vs a champion you hard counter and crush, your going to do better then expected.

Aram, Is a for fun game mode that's inherently imbalanced. The name All random should be pretty clear that your going to be dealing with a high amount of RNG impacting your games.

If you have further questions about how MMR and Elo systems work let me know. Just don't expect them to magically know your skill and have applied the correct starting value to your account. Its built around being self correcting and using large numbers.

Losing several times in a row isn't fun, neither is it worth anything. So whats the point? People should just uninstall and not play League if they have the same problem.

Also before you say "Play something else", my laptop isn't good enough to run other games.
