Can someone explain this to me?

So this season I was placed bronze 3 ( did not mind at all), I got to series and lost. Today I won 3 games of ranked in a row (check my match history) where I was at 69 or something on lp than my first win happened (92), than my second win, gave me a win in series, okay. now this is the confusing part. I won my third game expecting to get out of bronze 3, I get the same divison bronze 3. @_@ how?

the second game got you into series, it didn't count as a win for it. you need to win 1 more to get promoted

I think I wrote it wrong, so after my second win I hit series and had a win, it said I did, so I was like okay, after my third win It says I won my series and went to animation to give me the new divison I was suppose to get it was the same divison bronze 3
