Master Yi

Is there a reason riot never seems to much this champion? Looking at his page on Wiki it seems like what makes Yi broken (besides the obvious sated problems) is his synergy of his passive and his alpha strike. Would tweaking the AD or maybe the crit chance on his passive make him extremely underpowered to the point of becoming an irrelevant force on the rift? Or is Yi not as much of an unstoppable force as I believe him to be? Is it because of my low ELO that I haven't figured out how to get past a Yi? I do understand that hard CC is a counter for Yi; but it's not enough to just counter him and run because you know once your CC is up he's alpha striking and you're toast..
There has to be a way to stop him once he gets his items.. Items shouldn't break a champion..

Why is Yi bad - weak early (he can't lane vs 90 % of the champion pool with his mana costs + lack of escape and without the bonus dmg to minions and monsters with q will hardly jungle), melee with no utility for his team, super predictable - basically he cleans after both teams blow their CC and AOE. Supports or tanky teams with multiple CC spells destroy him. In low elo people or normal games people usually play for kills and don't pick tryhard team comps with critical mass of CC to stop Yi.

no, what makes him broken is how well devourer + rageblade synergizes with him

It's probably to do with other team not knowing how to shut Yi. Yi without items can't do much damage. A Yi with right items can do 1 vs 1 against most champs.
