The change to Galio's ult in V8.24 was a totally unnecessary nerfbat
The point of Galio's ult is to make their team not want to dive whoever he ulted, unless they know they can burst through the damage resistance and kill them before he lands. So either they ran away and got clipped by the edge or dodged it all together, but the person he ulted would live, or they would hard dive the person he ulted, and if they didn't kill them fast enough, would pay dearly for it (big knock up plus taunt). In the solo/duo environment (which is what the V8.24 changes were supposedly made for) this was his best hands down tool for helping teammates who get caught because they were overextended.
By getting rid of the defense and increased knockup attached to his ult, you changed it from being usable defensively or offensively on anyone to primarily offensive on a tank/bruiser. With the solo/duo enviorment already being VERY squishy heavy (5 man mage/assassin teams), so loosing that damage resistance just hurts too much. Galio already requires another champion (like shen and kalista) to ult, so that is already a huge solo/duo weakness. Either revert his ult or give him a new one entirely. He is a teamfighter, his whole kit is aoe and cc. The Q changes did more than enough to make him a lane brawler.
