New Thresh Lantern Mechanic

Please consider adding this to PBE just to try it out. Thresh and Mordekaiser are very similar in terms of their nature. They both revolve around death and spirit.

I think that Thresh's Dark Passage should allow an escape from Morde's Realm of Death. A sacrifice of some sort. Thresh collects souls with each death. Maybe a trade, where Thresh would sacrifice 30-40 souls in order to grant the person inside of Realm of Death a way out. Or where Thresh would trade places with the person inside refreshing the cooldown on the Ultimate. Ultimately, I just want more interactions within the game. I know that both champions tend to bug out sometimes, but that should not be that big of a problem since it only would affect them.

Please feel free to comment any suggestions or criticisms of this. I have mained both champions over the years, and I have at least a million mastery on each, and they seem perfect for such interaction.

I don't think direct 1 on 1 interactions between champion kits is healthy for the game.

Wasting 30-40 stacks of passive for this is a big NO, u basically lose 30+ armor that way (Im saying this because u never finish game with more than 150 stacks, and wasting that much to put urself in position to have less than 100 armor in 30+ min game is simply not worth it) remember, thresh has 16 base armor whole game, he doesn't get armor per level. Also Thresh is already S+ tier he doesn't really need this in my opinion

edit: if u really hate mordekaiser that much simply ban it

Heck. No. Thresh loses his lead by sacrifising souls meaning he loses a lot of armor and E passive damage. He becomes too squishy then. Besides, I'd rather spam laugh taunt my Vayne getting one shot by Mordekaiser than save that Demacian hoe

This idea is neat, however, there is one flaw.

Thresh and Morde come from two different places. Thresh is from the Shadow Isles, while Morde is from the Death Realm. As far as we know, Morde is the only one who can freely go in and out of the Death Realm. When the ruination happened, everyone struck ended up in a state of undeath, so they didn't actually die.

For this to make sense lore-wise, and Riot loves trying to tie everything together with lore now, they'd have to either move Morde back to the Shadow Isles or move Thresh to the Death Realm.

For the time being all we can do is buy qss and take cleanse unless Riot decides to do something else to make Morde ult less annoying.

It's worse for Morde than you. With gold investment you can deny a crucial ability of a champ, while he can't prevent that.

So there is a post suggesting that the game should include champion specific gameplay interactions solely based on lore and some people call it a good idea. Ok, let's give bonus damage to a team when they are all the same faction. OH OH, I know, since Aurelion Sol is a titanic cosmic dragon, he should be able to one-shot every champion with an autoattack, other than targonians. When he is in a game with targonians, they can control everything he does, even if he is the enemy. Or wait, I've got an even better idea. Garen can't do damage to Lux and vice versa since they are siblings. And Lux can't do damage to Sylas because she wanna smash. Likewise, Jarvan can't damage ANY Demacian since they are all his precious people. And Lucian gets a "revenge bonus" when against a Thresh, doing 100% increased damage to him. Also when he has a thresh support he automatically drops his guns, gives you the middle finger and goes AFK. And people wonder why Riot don't bother with league Boards, yeesh.

How about when thresh throws the lantern it automatically pulls any ally inside of it by re casting the ability so my adcs don’t go ???????????????? When they jump in 1v5 and a lantern is literally right there

Here is another interaction that makes sense, they should make it so Morde cannot be isolated in the realm of death, because currently, Kha'zix destroys him, I feel like if you are in your own realm, you are far more suited to dealing with an oversized bug

Mordekaiser's ult has plenty of counter-play already and doesn't need a champion specific one. item 3140/item 3139 and item 3102 comes to mind, but also anything that removes /blocks CC in general also counters him. Not to mention you can partially stop it by outplaying within the ult, I've seen it happen alot already. Hell Gangplank being able to remove his ult on a low cd ability is already pretty bad. Overall you can stop Mordekaiser by being too tanky (mostly HP tanks in this meta), poking him down from range, or doing short quick trades because he will almost always win an extended trade.

So no I do not think he needs more counter play, just a bit of fine tuning.

omg watching people who know nothing about lore talk about lore... Morde's death realm is literally one that he created himself. Thresh has nothing to do with it and can't do anything with it.
