New placement rules. Where were you placed.

Alright so, I was S3 at the end of Season 6 or so. Not sure just got back to playing. Either way did my placement matches for S7. I went 7-3 in placement matches and was placed at Bronze 4.

My question is, why did I even try? I could have lost all 10 games and went straight to B5 and wasted little effort outside of just being in the game running about.

Anyone else had similar experiences?

I got 2 more placements to go. I ended at G4 but I am pretty sure I will hit low silver regardless. It is pretty stupid. Might be a profit strategy to get people to want to climb again, therefore play more, therefore probably spend money. Or it might be them just trying to make higher elo more exclusive. Either way I don't see a good enough justification for it.
