Enchantment System

I like how riot has implemented an enchantment system for not only boots but for jungle items as well to create a more diverse jungle and give all junglers an end game item. I personally would like to see an enchantment system for support items as well to give more champions the ability to fulfill a support role and acquire an end game item similar to the current jungle item system. Does anyone else share this opinion? If so what are your thoughts on the matter? If not why do you not think it is not viable? While on this subject What about Doran's items? I understand they are starting items to be sold later and not meant to be end game items. However I don't think we should immediately dismiss the idea of having a starter item turn into an end game one. Me personally I prefer efficiency and I don't like the idea of buying a starter item only to get rid of it later. I feel like everything should have an impact on late game performance and if you end up selling your Doran's item later it feels like a waste to buy it in the first place, but that's just me. Does anyone else share this opinion? Again if so What are your thoughts on the matter and if not why do you think it is not viable?

I think the enchantment/ upgrade system should be applied to every role because it is a great system. I disagree with doran's items being upgradeable because the trade off is that they give better stats than any other item you can start with at the cost of not being upgradeable later. You have to choose between starting your late game build with the first item or being strong but a little bit farther from your late game build.

What if they made the cost to upgrade it completely more costly than any other fully completed item, but the final stats are also greater than any other fully completed item. Would that not be a sufficient trade off?

with the loss of gold on sell back that is effectively what it is now. I mean they could do that but it wouldn't really be changing anything.

I don't know I feel like it would just add to the effectiveness of a starting item to have it be able to turn into something late game. I just don't like that it's an item you buy just to sell later.
