What's the appeal in jungling? (Jg mains pls respond)

Okay, so hear me out. I wouldn't say I HATE jungling... Wait yeah I would.

It just feels so unfun to me. Here is what I feel like jungling is-

  • Fighting monsters with literally no brain or outplay potential 80% of the early game
  • Walking into lanes to find that it's warded and you've wasted your time
  • Walking into lanes to help your teammate get a kill, but your teammate never follows up
  • Actually getting a kill in a lane, but realizing it only happens 1/10 times.

The only time I find jungling remotely fun or interesting is when my team is super ahead and I can counter jungle the enemy, knowing I'm making him useless, and not having to stress about which of your 3 inting lanes to gank.

This isn't just a tilt/rage post BTW, genuinely asking where the appeal is. I want to be able to have such a big impact on the game as a jungler but actually have fun doing it. (Also Kayn is super fun but Kayn top is troll af)

Jungle is a parental role, Along with the mother(support), You make sure your children Mid and ADC grow up to be indecent scumbags. Our Uncle Top lane does nothing but split push, On special occasions, He flames me because the brother of the enemy top laner is camping him.

Conclusion: We are Sadists.

Meanwhile, the mother is busy taking care of the special snowflake ADC and making sure that they have all the money and everything else they could ever possibly need for the lategame that never comes.

So, while you're farming those brainless monsters what is going through your head? Are you thinking about your opponent jungler and his most likely position on the map at that time given clear speed and starting location? Are you watching lanes not only to look for ganking opportunities for yourself, but watching for opportunities your opponent might capitalize on?

To me it's all about the mind games and mentally mapping out your opponent's route and playstyle. You seem to be focusing a lot on interacting with the lanes, when that's only a part of what it means to be a jungler.

EDIT: I'm a top lane main, but this is what I get out of it when I jungle.

OP is obviously thinking how to outplay Krugs.

This should be a thing in Doombots, though.... Teemo

Jungle perhaps is the most important role on the map. He places wards around map like support and needs to keep track of enemy jungle. He needs to be aware of EACH (not just one) lane's wave movement and match-ups, to know when to gank, when to be successful and when to help push a lane for tower. He needs to know when it is a good time to take the objectives like dragon and BE there, which means he needs to have proper pathing and plan well ahead of time for what he is going to do. It is actually the most brain intensive lane if you want to play it well. These listed are on ly a few things

Kiting is a thing in the early game for some Junglers.

This is the wrong way to think about it though. Because you can literally take your eyes off the Jungle for stretches of time, you're the one who can keep one eye on the minimap almost literally the whole time. Some good pattern recognition and you will recognize when people leave lane to Ward and where they Warded, where the enemy Jungler is, and how to outmaneuver them.

Walking into lanes to find that it's warded and you've wasted your time

Ahem

Walking into lanes to help your teammate get a kill, but your teammate never follows up

If it's a matter of teammates not helping you, you must HATE ADC and Support.

Actually getting a kill in a lane, but realizing it only happens 1/10 times.

Are you that bad at ganking?

Jungling requires a specific skillset. If you don't have that skillset, you won't be able to take advantage of the Jungle, and you're going to get frustrated because what should be obvious tells to an experience Jungler are just going to shoot right over your head. To rephrase, you don't seem to have the skillset necessary to take advantage of the Jungle, of course you're having trouble seeing the appeal.

Not totally bashing on you btw, I still struggle with whether being an ADC means I have to play the safe DPS of the team or be the big playmaker.
