New Item wards not worth it!

Recently as I've been playing support a lot I noticed that I hardly ever by the upgraded sight wards: , ,

Why is this? Because the utility I get from the other upgrade paths: , , are wayy to more beneficial in terms of their active abilities.

However if you were able to buy , , with the final build: , , function added in I would in buy them every single game even with the added cost! Therefor I would like riot to consider combining these two items + gold cost as a final build path for players. I believe you would see a great rise in use of these items as a result. they would have 2 actives, which will cause a problem.
they will be so slot efficient you will see them on almost every mid/jungler possibly top laners as well.
I agree that 1 over shadows the other, but combining them is not the solution.

You already see sightstone and the other items on supports. It wouldn't be that lucrative that top/jungler would buy it anymore than they already buy a sightstone.

read the PBE notes, they are testing adding 10%CDR to item 2302 item 2301

That would really help narrow the gap. Right now, it doesn't feel like it's a choice between vision and utility, it feels like it's a choice between vision and utility plus a pile of stats. While obviously the sightstone version needs to have fewer stats to justify the reduced item slot cost, it's probably too far tilted in favor of the non-vision version because of how short games go.

Remember: Item slots only matter if the game goes long enough for you to run out, and for supports, that's often 30+ minutes.

I don't know why they ever even made it an option to combine when ruby sightstone and a support item (even though costs 2 slots) have way better synergy and are better in every way compared to combining them.

2 slots and a bunch of gold. Eyes cost as much total as a completed support item costs by itself, not counting the sightstone, so you can start building your next item much sooner (possibly even before you complete the Eye, if you don't need the inventory slot that bad; just keep the tier 2 support item and regular sightstone). Some have higher stats too; item 2302 has more health regen and mana regen than item 3069 for example. That one in particular is very much a "how bad do I really want this active" choice.

Instead of comparing item 2045 item 3401 (total cost 4000) to item 2303 (cost 2200) by itself, compare it to something more like item 3105 (total cost 3700). Now is that worth more than FotM active? Maybe! And that's the way it should be.

Spooky ghosts are so amazing right now that it's going to be really hard for item 2301 in particular to compete, but on the other hand, some of the supports who would build item 3303 are also ones who really want to start on items like item 3504 item 3050 item 3060 .

I don't use the Eyes much myself, but as long as sightstone exists in the game, I support Eyes existing too.

They could always rework sightstone to modify trinket charges and allow those item effects to be the actives

Yes items could have two actives. Just hit Alt and the # to get the 2nd active would be all you would need to do. They already have that for certain abilities already like controlling Annie's Tibbers or Shaco's shadow clone by pressing alt.

I personally get item 2045 and a utility item.

i think EYE items should be improved, but i like having a choice between them and the others, both should be kept. perhaps making Eye's give a bit more gold or something.
