I feel like its almost impossible to get above silver with solo queue. I am by no means new to the game and have been playing quite some time (I win my lane probably 80% of the time). However, this game has too many trolls, dc's, etc. I'm now considering uninstalling due to the fact that this has been an issue since I have started playing this game( and I have been playing for a while.
Thats the thing, I like the game (thats why I have been playing for so long), but it literally pisses me off and stresses me out at times because all I am doing is running in place. It wouldn't bother me so much if I was the one at fault and I needed to improve within the rank that I am currently in. If I wasnt winning my lane in 80%+ of the games I play and then still wind up losing because my team mates do bad or theres an afk, etc. it also wouldnt bother me. I think to a point, they need to create a factor that is implemented into the ranking system, to balance this out. I know this has to be an issue with many other people and not just me.
I personally feel like Riot cares very, very little for us. They just want the money and that's it. When I'm solo in the queue, I am constantly in games against 3-4 people premades and players of higher rank and skill flashing their masteries and spamming their taunts and emotes. I do my best and I play decently, and I always end up losing to self-absorbed, arrogant bully teams and I feel like I CAN'T improve no matter what I do or how many games I patiently play. It feels like I'm never evenly or fairly matched. I've seen tons of people complaining about solo queue and being met only with "qq git gud" responses. Sportsmanship my ass.
