Why can't I play the champions that made me love this game.

Almost every time I see a rework I have to prepare myself for the disappointment that will insue. After each VGU riot keeps the name for the champion and their general body structure and weapon and they scrap either everything about their kit, or what makes their kit unique for something completely different. The first rework that I had this happen to a champion I liked was shen. Shen was a champion that was one of the most simple in the game (possibly more than Garen), but that was what made him fun. He was my go to top laner when I was forced top and his simple kit allowed me to take it easy and relax while playing league and focus more on talking with my friends. His new kit is needlessly complicated with new mechanics, when just a visual update and a change to his ult would have been fine. I'd say shen was one of the better ones since he still kept his voice actor and his new model was really good. Then my least favorite rework happened, Taric. I loved Taric. I would play either him or blitz as support since he was so much fun to play. Even better was how he could be played top and if you were against an AD champ the game was pretty much over. But then he too got reworked and it was downright offensive. His model and voice over were completely change and his previously hilarious voice over talking about gems every 5 seconds was replaced with a boring "nobel hero" that every other video game has (hell Jayce is the exact same). On top of this his Q, W, and E were all fine, but his ult captured none of what made his old ult fun and useful, instead going for an AOE kayle ult with a delay, making him almost impossible to play top reliably. Then they reworked Malzahar and made AD malazhar unusable (btw they said AD malz would be fine after the rework, but I guess they just forgot about that). Then they did the Yorick update, my favorite one. It got his ghouls right, made him fairly powerful and kept some of what made yorick fun. The problem is that even if I like new Yorick, it doesn't negate the fact that I can no longer play the old yorick that I got master 5 on. And the most recent update was aatrox. I loved this champion (I hit master 7 long before this rework) and it's a shame that riot couldn't revert him now. First of all his voiceover is worse that Taric, by far the worst in the entire game. Aatrox was a cold killer than only told a joke with /joke. Now every other line is a silly remark in an accent that is way too similar to viktor. On top of this the only thing they kept from his old kit was his ult which they threw way too much power on. Aatrox was the best top laner in LCS after he got an amazing mini-rework. The next rework is nunu, and after the horrible reworks riot's done in the past, I'm not looking forward to it in the slightest. I hope riot makes a way for people to play the champions that they loved playing since they're just going to keep removing them from the game uptil it's unrecognizable.
