The Sion E Nerf In Patch 5.6

So the reason is that sion can build tanky and still do great damage with his E(ROAR OF THE SLAYER). I get that, that is perfectly fine.

But what about someone like me ... who plays AP Sion? Its just like the nerf to AP Yasuo, they nerf the magic damage on Yasuo's dash even though that didn't really change how Yasuo did at all.

Besides that point, the nerf brings the 50% damage bonus to 30% damage bonus on pushed minions. His E damage base is actually pretty low and the AP Ratio is nothing to talk about either so when I lose 20% damage:

Example: 300 damage on base hit, 450 on push. Now it will be 390 damage after the nerf. It may not seem like much but it can change a lot. That is before magic resist too.

Since this nerf is geared toward Sion as a tank I am hoping that the balance team will consider buffing the AP Ratio slightly by something like (0.1) than the current ratio. This will allow sions to build tanky and be nerfed and for people such as me who is playing AP Sion which will stay unnaffected by something they shouldn't be effected by because of a different playstyle.

Discuss this please people of the forums, I'd like to know your thoughts on this.

Thanks ~GranMaster Twerk

I think it does put the nail in AP Sion's coffin. It would have been nice if they had increased his AP ratio on E to compensate for the nerf because now it's only worth building Sion as a pure tank. Sad day for the big guy...

I first played AP Sion (not counting pre-rework Sion) the day his rework came out, and often ended up getting extremely fed. When I first saw this nerf, I got pretty disappointed :c

They keep picking at him piece by piece and pretty soon there won't be anything left. They should be raising him up as the standard of balance and bringing other champions to his level, not reducing his play diversity and potential.

First: I get that he was popular, but he was popular because he's a shining example of what a tank should be and if there were other, more powerful choices, he wouldn't even be that special. Second: He's squishier than pretty much everyone early game. He scales into his tankiness, so he doesn't get tanky until he gets enough farm. His damage is all he has to protect himself and now that they're gutting him, he's going to face some serious challenges.

If they really felt like his damage was too much on the pass-through, they should've just made it function like Caitlyn's Q or Ezreal's R. Pretty fucking simple.
