The thing about Yi is that he's an all or nothing champion. That's what his kit revolves around. His Q cooldown resets for every kill he gets but his Teamfighting potential is absolute crap without dying immediately or getting blown up since he has literally no cc. Giving him AD on his W will give him more health regeneration and promote better teamfighting. Riven has an AD shield and tons of crowd control, so why not good old Yisus? Just an idea.
Someone didn't play when AP Yi existed. You have no idea what you're asking.
Because yi has an untargetable. his heal is fine. he does not need changes.
His W's main purpose is the damage reduction, the heal is just a bonus. and it heals % missing health as well so it will always be useful. It's one of the better skills in the game, he does not need an AD ratio on it.
I dont play yI , so i'm assuming his w is his meditation.
Think about meditation. Its a purely mental thing. It doesnt matter how strong you are or how fast you can strike. Thats not gonna help you with meditation. What matters is your internal mental strength (ie AP).
So no, I dont think it should scale with AD. This is because AD doesnt help you meditate. It should remain AP scaling because it makes sense thematically.

Have you heard about AP Yi?
He had an AP Ratio on Q and W at the time, and was broken OP with coinciding scalings even without autoattacks.
An AD ratio on W gives him all one type of ratio AND damaging auto attacks. No thanks.
