Support play at low elo

So I'm a Bronze 3 support main, and I like to get ruby sight-stone and keep my two item 3340 so my ADC doesn't have to face check brushes. Now someone in one of my recent games said "it's useless to keep your yellow trinket" along with other stuff. I'm pretty sure he was just toxic but that got me thinking is keeping yellow trinket useless at low elo? My conclusion is yes at high level item 3364 is better, but in B3 is it worth getting when no one places wards?

Any thoughts?

That guy is right. Once you get a sightstone get rid of yellow. Just because you're wrong doesn't make other people toxic End of story

Yello trinket isn't necessary after sight stone once you hit sight stone switch to red trinket and upgrade at lv 9 it still shows the outline of enemy champs so your not face checking.

So I've seen your comments and I get where you are coming from, IE you feel that if you are not going to sweep that many wards you get more value out of the additional wards the yellow trinket gives.

The thing is though 1 ward, especially at low elo, can make a world of difference specifically because people don't sweep/buy control wards like they should. The amount of games I saw swing in my teams favor because the enemy team didn't sweep a baron/dragon ward or because I did sweep what wards they placed and made them face check into certain death when I started my climb back in Silver 4 is pretty crazy.

Deny 1 ward and making the enemy teams mini-map go completely black can be very game breaking and it shouldn't be underestimated.

If you absolutely don't want to buy a red trinket at least buy the blue 1 as it gives you a long range ward to place in brush to avoid getting jumped, and that ward doesn't have a timer so it can last longer depending on where you place it and doesn't counter as part of your 3 ward limit.

B4 here, I play it by ear. Since I'm dropping a lot of item 2055 prior to level 9, if I notice that I haven't discovered a lot of enemy wards, I take item 3363 over item 3364.

No pro is going to tell you to do that but its more logical in bronze.

I'm a bronze support also, and have had the same experience. I've stuck to getting the sweeper because those few games that the opposing team does use wards, I like getting rid of them. Also, having a sweeper gives my team confidence that when we are hiding in brush to ambush the other team, that we'r enot sitting on a ward.

Your plan isn't flawed, and you probably end up doing better with yello trinket late game, but don't ignore the benefits of KNOWING the opponent has no wards around Baron before going in.

You are actually correct since red wards are more versatile and in low elo you cant tell your adc to push lane or stop pushing lane so u can back. Keep yellow so you have wards just buy a red or 2 then plz switch to oracle lvl9.
