Sated Devour Kogmaw JG

Apologize for my bad English in advance. Recently, I've been experimenting Kogmaw JG with Sated Devour

The mastery I take is Thunderlord (12/18/0) and I go for ATS runes (8.5 phs dmg + 19% att spd) My spells are smite (which eventually turns to red smite) and exhaust.

I start with Gorlem to get a buff (stun on every 6 hit?) and I can clear the entire jg with 30% hp left unless I get countered. (smite on wolves = important) Thanks to recent buffs for Kogmaw, the Kogmaw JG has become easier than ever before.

Counter picks are Teemo(blind), Trynd(mobility), Malphite(irresistable), Graves(smoke), Quinn(blind), Irellia(stun), and J4(isolation)

The builds are; Devour - Witchend (or Rageblade)- Nasher - Gunblade - Runan (or Phantom Dancer) - Visage (or Mallet or Sterak or Deadman's plate) And they are very cheap.

A full build makes Kogmaw 1 vs 1 Baron Nashor (when equipped Visage).

Expected damage per sec is; (at least 200 on hit magic damage + 4% of Champ's Max HP + little bit of physical damage) x 5

  • True Damage (red smite)

Expected damage during W is on (6 secs) + Sated Devour (at least 200 on hit magic damage + 4% of Champ's Max HP + little bit of physical damage) x 30

  • (at least 200 on hit magic damage + 4% of Champ's Max HP ) x 7
  • True Damage (red smite)

And once Kogmaw equips runan, the fight becomes messier. I recently fought against 4 diving enemy champions (all my teammates were dead), I killed them all and survived. All I did were exhaust on fed enemy champ, red smite on enemy adc, E, and auto-attack. I can't even remember how I survived...

And every on-hit heals average of 40 hp ( I don't know how it sums up when kogmaw equips runan) CD of W becomes 4.9 sec (wo blue buff) in the end

Once Kogmaw gets a devour (not sated), he can 1 vs 1 against any champs except the champs that I mentioned above. (use exhaust or red smite!) Since I'm not good at moving shots, I started to this build. And it seems very effective. I usually become the most damage dealt player of a match and sometimes I carry the game. Just stay right next to ad carry and kill the nearest enemy champs. So far, I only tried this build in normal games because people dodge a ranked game whenever I call Kog Jg ;(

Please leave a comment or recommendable items for my builds and runes.

Thanks for reading.

No flash on no escape (and very squishy) champ? It only works on certain team comps , and if there are early game champs on the other side and they know what they're doing, you may see your passive up very often you know. But it's interesting to try on normal. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Against enemy champs with mobility, I go for Smite and Flash. (ghost against trynd lol) But I buy Phantom Dancer over Runan's Hurricane. (to reduce enemies' damage just like exhaust but not as much ;( ) Yeah.. mobility is the biggest concern for all Kogmaw users. That's why I join the team fight once it starts. (stay away from the danger!!)

Well it's still risky tho, but with decent support and mid/top that have lock-down ability he'd be godlike. Oh and i'd rather take BOTRK over Nashor for mixed damage, take glyphs CDR per lvl to make up for the CDR loss.

There are quite a few junglers that look good on paper, and can be fun to play, but won't hold up to competent enemy junglers. What do you do when Elise Gragas Evelynn Hecarim JarvanIV Jax Khazix Olaf LeeSin Pantheon RekSai Rengar Vi Volibear MonkeyKing XinZhao decide that they're just going to waltz into your jungle whenever they want over the first 20 minutes and kill you?

StepVIStep1 votes

Elise, Jax, Pantheon are hard to fight against

Others? Easy! No problem~ It happens all the time and only Kog survives after 6 secs.

I use smite on wolves for that kind of reason. All should be prepared.

Even though you lose some of your JG monsters, just find somewhere else to farm or to gank.

Time is on Kogmaw's side.

One day Shaco took my blue and killed me near red, but after 5 minutes, I started to hunt Shaco.

(And against Leesin or Shaco, I start red.)

Devourer kogmaw also doesnt work. unfortunately because of how the game is coded, kogmaws W is an auto attack modifier that gives you TWO hits per basic attack; effectively doubling your attack speed. because of that sated still only procs at the same rate, making the attacks require to proc it EIGHT instead of 4.

No, that isn't accurate.

If Kog's W were an OnHit modifier then he would only generate a Rageblade stack every other attack. I tested this out in a bot game just the other day, Kog gets a devourer proc off every fourth attack just like any other ranged champion when his W is up.

And ive tested it on the PBE. its STILL a basic attack while being an auto attack modifier, so it stacks guinsoos where devourer DOESNT work on modifiers; otherwise shyv Q, ezreal Q, and GP Q would all proc devouers (and they dont, since theyre modifiers.)

Could be a recent change, then.

Kog got his W cap lowered from 100 to 60 against Jungle monsters on this round of PBE. Not sure why Riot is dropping the hammer on Jungle Kog while Graves is still running rampant, though.

Actually according to meddler; its been capped at 60 for AGES, this is just a tooltip change.

Capped since the Kog remake.

It was 120 before pre-season.

Sated Devour is not for getting stacks for Rageblade faster. It's all about on hit damages (that is why I mentioned "at least 200 on-hit damages") When Rageblade is fully stacked, 230 is actual on-hit damage for every singe hit. Though I don't know about proc thing.. bullets went so fast.. my eyes couldn't catch up lol.

Don't apologize for mistakes; fix mistakes.

"Gorlem", "Witchend", "runan" etc. And you are not even trying. That's just plain disrespectful.

I think you already got what I wanted to deliver. So, deal with it.

As demonstrated, disrespectful. Disrespect to other English Second Language learners who actually put in effort, disrespect for who interact with. False apologies aren't an excuse for you not giving a shit about others.

Thunderlord seems not adapted at all... Fervor of Battle is probably better.
