You say that now. Then you experience a zed in late game that doesn't have to worry about energy costs, because he has enough mana to spam spells infinitely. His energy cost makes his early game stronger and his late game more controlled. Give him mana, and it'll be like Karthus but with shurikens.

they need to tone down his w damg

Ways to fix Zed.

Lower the % bonus attack damage he gets from his W. 25% is a ludicrously high number for an assassin that builds almost always straight damage items. Lower his armor and magic resist scaling, or outright remove his magic resist scaling. Assassins gaining equal level armor per level to tanks and bruisers is a bit silly. Lower Zed's Q damage scaling. at level 5, it does 235 damage with a 100% bonus AD scaling, including his W, making it a massive nuke for a low amount of energy every 6 seconds. Even then, they're almost always thrown from a W Extension, allowing 2 to hit, doing an additional 100-200 damage. Raise his cooldowns on Q and E. 6 and 4 seconds flat at all times not including CDR? Sheesh. I'm sorry, but that's just silly. Being required to purchase items for a sole champion sort of defeats the purpose of having multiple item paths in-game. Yes, I can understand buying a QSS, but not early, nor mid game. If anything, QSS is a last-build item to negate dives when you're playing an ADC and sometimes possibly a mid lane champion or a fragile melee jungler. Buying a item for a champion mid-game when you need to scale with damage or health items is a bit preposterous.

Ways not to fix zed: give him mana.

I don't have time to go through your whole argument, i was just responding to the mana one because it's a lot simpler and easy to see why it's a bad idea.

Do you uh, do you actually believe that? Like every mage in the game can't spam a similiar waveclear spell just as much, and no one cares? But putting that aside, have you even considered the consequences to your early and mid game? First, Zed basically becomes like Ekko in lane, making from the most lane dominant midlaner to one of the weakest. He will not get cs leads and kills, you'll be looking at losing cs and dying in lane to immobile mages. And he won't be able to clear the wave repeatedly, making him vulnerable to push strats. Then, taking your far smaller cs, you'll have to take that gold and spend a good chunk of it on mana. Instead of rushing a item 3142, you'll be getting yourself a item 3042. And that's only if your weak laning phase doesn't force you into item 3155, which will prolong the period you can't keep up with mages in wave control. Now that your damage is thoroughly dunked, you won't even be able to assassinate people in skirmishes any more. You can't roam without losing your tower, either. The weak early game becomes a weak midgame as your itemization is crap and you're behind from laning anyway, and theres no powerspike awaiting Zed at this time. You'll waddle into lategame facing carries with Zhonya's and QSS with a gold deficit. And you think throwing a few more shurikens... would be worth this?

Mana Zed would be a melee range AD mage with no CC and a waveclear spell that does half damage to more than one unit. Yeah.

lvl 1 Zed

Q cost 75 Energy 6 Sec cool down (energy cost goes down per lvl, down to 55 energy at lvl 5)

Energy regens at 10 a sec

So every 7.5 seconds u can cast Q with no change to your Energy Pool,

Yep REDICULOUSLY HIGH ENERGY COSTS!!!!!!

btw it has 900 range, 1100+ range with shadow, and goes through minions

Name 1 Mana champ who can cast a spell every 7.5 seconds and not change there mana pool.

This is why Zed is OP and broke early game. He can near mindlessly spam his abilities to chunk you down then all in you when he pleases, ult or no ult. All other energy champs have some counter play to there mindless spamming, either short ranged spells, or cant go through minions. there is NO COUNTER PLAY to zeds Q or W-Q. You can counter build his ult all you want but with those worthless stats he will sit back and spam Q and W-Q all day and 1. push you out of lane. or 2. kill you with out the ult proc cause u have worthless stats while he is building CDR, AD, and Armor pen.
